What is FinalShot Screenshot Capture? FinalShot is a menu bar app that allows users to take screenshots with just two clicks. It can save screenshots in a folder of the user's choice or copy them to the clipboard. Users can capture the full screen or a specific area by selecting the top left and bottom right corners. The app also features floating windows that can be adjusted for transparency and can store screenshots as PNG or JPEG files. FinalShot can even copy unselectable text and text from images using OCR. Custom hotkeys can be set up for launching the app using a keyboard shortcut. Users can enable or disable various options such as saving in a directory, copying to clipboard, and showing the floating window. The app requires permission to record the screen, which can be enabled following the instructions provided.

FinalShot Screenshot Capture Features and Description

1. FinalShot can save your screenshots in a folder of your choice and/or copy your screenshots to clipboard so that you can paste them into other apps.

2. Floating windows help you keep information visible across different apps! They come in handy when compiling information or when comparing data from different sources.

3. You can enable and disable the 'Save in directory', 'Copy to clipboard' and 'Show floating window' options.

4. To screenshot a specific area, simply select the top left corner and drag your cursor to the bottom right corner to outline the area to be captured.

5. FinalShot stores your screenshots as PNG or JPEG files and you can lower the quality if you need smaller files.

6. You can set up custom hotkeys if you want to launch FinalShot using a keyboard shortcut.

7. You can screenshot your full screen or a specific area.

8. FinalShot needs permission to record your screen.

9. You can also recapture the last custom area you selected.

10. You can use the slider to adjust the transparency of the floating window.

11. Click on the option to enable or disable it.

    Better Screen Grab

    I used to have GRAB in my Pc dock. Then, somehow it got replaced with something called SCREENSHOT, a suboptimal replacement given that the menu actually intrudes often on the shot you want to grab, sort of like a photobomb. FINALSHOT is a superior product, simple, easy to use, and effective.

    not what i expected

    i am looking for program where I can capture, copy and paste vs. having to save every capture... its totally an unmet need with out having to pay a ton of money

    Custom area grab doesn’t work

    I was hoping this would be a simple screen grabber for my needs, but the custom screen shot feature doesn’t work. I specify an area, and it takes a screen shot of a different part of the screen. I tried several times with the same result. Maybe it’s because I’m using a Windows with multiple displays — the app pulls both screens together into one before you draw your rectangle. Then it doesn’t work. Oh well.

    Love it, but has a recurring bug that is very bad!

    Hello, this app would be 5 stars, but there has been a bug that has happened 3 times to me that makes my computer completely unsuable. I believe it happens when I go to take a "portion of screen" screenshot and accidentally click twice without dragging the box anywhere. This will trigger an event where all mouse clicks are stuck in the rectangle selection phase, but no screenshots are taken and I have no mouse control over my computer. This has happened in work meetings which was very detrimental. I have had to manually reset my computer every time this happens because I don't know how to escape it. Please reach out to me if you need any more information on the bug or if you have any suggestions to force escape the program if this happens again.
