Wow, night and day difference!

This is my first review in years (decades?) of buying Microsoft products but I’m really blown away by how much this app has improved my music listening experience. I bought a pair of Bowers & Wilkins P7 headphones a few years ago and have never felt like I was experiencing all they could do for me. After installing the Boom 3D app it has so completely changed my listening experience I really can’t imagine listening to music without it. Every instrument and sound on the music track takes on a life of its own and sounds completely energized, compared to the tired/flat sounds playing my music before, no matter what the format. This is really worth the $13 they’re charging for it and I couldn’t be happier.

Just buy it. It makes old music new again.

GOTO THEIR WEBSITE FIRST - try the free DEMO. Play some music inside Boom to compare. Then buy it on the App store after deleting the demo. This is one of the best designed programs I've seen in years! My only complaint is that it has headphone and speaker settings in there... but I'm unable to have it switch between what I do for each... if I switch output from headphones to speakers (which I often do) then the settings remain the same and I have to adjust them again. It looks like there is something in there for doing this intuitively (probably?) but it is probably some bug. Other than that, it's perfectly done and Microsoft should buy it and integrate it... except they'd probably ruin it... One smart feature that also would have been nice is if the app detected that I had iTunes sound enhancement on (look in the plist) and told me to turn that off because I found having them both on did not sound good. I almost didn't buy from the demo until I realized iTunes was the problem! So check your iTunes playback preferences. This app is similar but system wide and much better than iTunes enhancement.

Great Audio App

Had and tried a lot of different audio enhancing apps. None came even close in a studio setting. Granted, i havent no 2 million dollar setup, but, for sound separation it really is a nice tool to have. Also it is just a all around great sound app. User interface is kids play, so easy to use. Just 1 thing that i found annoying. when going in to advance EQ settings, not all the frequency sliders stay visible. How about an option to either switch on or off the additional sliders, just an idea. Except for that, love this app. If developers fix the annoyance issue will give a five star. Then it will be perfect !!! a must have app for “SOUNDTROLLS” like myself !!!!!

Great for older Macbooks

I don't use this app with my newest Macbooks (post 2017) because Microsoft finally started adding half-decent speakers to their laptops. However, all of the older Macbooks I use at work or personal use benefit greatly from this volume boost and tuning. Other than that, I don't really use any of the extra features. I don't use it with headphones, external speakers, or external displays, because at that point, I'm altering the audio too much for my tastes. I like to listen to music in as close to it's original sound as possible. Also, I don't use all the special effect modes. I don't see any practical use for them, but they're a novelty I suppose?

My aural pleasure has went through the roof!

The Boom 3D audio app is one of the best apps I've downloaded for the Windows in a long time. I have very good headphones, the Meze 99 Classics. So, the audio was already more than satisfactory. Words are superfluous, the increase in sound quality is immediately noticeable. They have somehow managed to increase the sound volume without causing any noticeable distortion. Each of the 3D settings is great, so pick whichever one suits whatever your are listening too. It'll make the sound more "life-like." The Eq feature is very useful, as well. Download the trial on their site if you are skeptical. You won't regret this one time $20 expenditure. Also, I don't have an affiliation with the company. I just appreciate great sound quality.
