App turns your computer into a radio tuner as it promises to do

On Windows OS X El Capitan (at least) the app works and turns my computer into a radio tuner. It is simple to use and the number of stations available is large. I couldn’t find a better app to play radio staions and I use it a lot. There is a free version available, so you can evaluate the app to see if the stations you want to listen to are available. However, I suggest that you eventually pay for myTuner Radio Pro, because only the pay version will keep streaming a radio station without interruption. For what it is worth, myTuner Radio Pro is better developed for the iphone (iOS) than it is for the Windows Computer (OSX). On the iphone it works well, but you’ll have to pay twice to have the app on both your computer and iphone/ipad. Although myTuner Radio Pro does work on the Windows, its implementation is odd and should be improved. For example, the large tuner (station list) window cannot be moved out of the way and cannot be minimized; it is stationary on the screen. The myTuner Radio Pro app for Macintosh computers has a few bugs; they are not terrible, but should be corrected. No software updates or bug fixes have been issued since I have owned the app (3 months).

      Decent But Needs Work!!

Had the free version but finally bought the full app. Little difference except no commercials and icon change. All the bugs in the free are still in the paid version. ARGH. Decent app that has lots of radio stations but not much different than what is already free in iTunes Internet Radio with no commercials. Plus it has numerous bugs the developer has yet to fix. Could be great but is only decent at this point. Bugs or enhancements - Quits under odd circumstances that don’t make sense…initially opens to a static frozen page that has issues at first…podcasts are limited and missing ones can’t be added…controls at bottom of menu are strange, limited, don’t make sense, should be clearer and/or need work…can’t sort or move Favorites…can’t skip back or forward at all by 10-15 second increments…etc. Had I known about all these issues I probably wouldn’t have purchased. As a paying customer one expects more. I am happy to pay for apps that are taken care of. Some of these issues shouldn’t be that difficult to fix at the very least. Decent app but needs work. Tired of paying for mediocrity and slow developer response to improvement requests.

Devs should fix bugs, but it’s the best around

So I choose to pull the trigger for the paid Pro version and I’m very glad I did! IMO, it’s the best internet radio app on the Windows App Store. One thing I would like to request from one developer to the myTuner devs, please fix the bugs. They are not blockers nor should they prevent others from purchasing this app. Purchase this app! DEVS: You have some positioning issue when selected a new radio stations and the menu bar text goes from the station name to ‘connecting…’. There’s a rendering/refresh issue when you lanuch the app and the view defaults to your Favorites: the favorites are blank until you click on something like ‘Recents’ then back to ‘Favorites’, when you return the list renders as expected. Lastly, if the app has been pause for serveral several hours and you go back to it to start up a station again, the app will unexpectedly quit? USERS & Potential buyers: These bugs are not show stoppers, just things that need to be addressed. They should not deter you from using or purchasing this app…I maintain it still the best I’ve used! Cheers!

      Abandonware?

Updating the review that I wrote more than a year ago to note that the app STILL crashes reliably when opening a radio station after waking the computer from sleep. So it is well over two years ago that the developers assured me that this would be fixed soon. Clearly it is abandonware, which is too bad. Original review: Is this now abandonware? This is in general a useful app, a decent replacement for the dearly missed Radium, which did the same things more efficiently and with a better user interface. But since PC 10.5 Catalina and continuing in PC 11, the app reliably crashes whenever the system has gone to sleep and been reawakened. An email to the developers about a year ago did receive a response that this will be fixed in the next update — but there has been no update. Worried.

Originally: Ten Dollar Radio App with NO Sound, Now: Sounds Great!

Finally figured out what I was doing wrong. Works great and easily connects with my AirPlay device! Just give us an easier way to delete Recents. Downloaded the mobile app and it works great. Decided to try the desktop version and during the downloading process it indicated there was a problem but the app eventually downloaded. When I opened it and selected a station to play, there is no sound. I have deleted and reloaded the app, restarted the computer several times, including clearing the PRAM, still no sound. I have sent three e-mails to Appgeneration Software explaining the problem and have still not had a response. An app that doesn’t work and no customer service, feel like I just threw ten dollars away.
