What is iRestFREE? iRestFREE is a free app that provides a timer-based counter to give users a 10-second rest with a semi-transparent animation and crystal clear sound effects according to the time period which they set up. It is designed to help users who spend more than 4 hours daily in front of their Mac, have dry eye or other eye problems, or want to save their vision. The app has several features, including a time-based engine, adjustable animation transparency and color, and the ability to block iRestFREE while playing video games. The app has undergone several upgrades, including the addition of a status menu and menu icon, a dock menu, and a fully customizable global hotkey to invoke the eye rest animation. The latest version is compatible with macOS Big Sur and has a rewritten global hotkey function, modified eye turning flash sequence, and interface fine-tuning for dark mode.
