    Very useful for network work

I've been developing Internet of Things (IoT) software as a hobby for the past year and find this pretty essential for that. The IoT work involves configuring routers and headless computers, (e.g., Raspberry Pi), communicating with Commercial control nodes (e.g., Hue hubs) and programming embedded computers (e.g., ESP32-based devices). It is often hard to find these devices on the network and all too easy to make configuration mistakes and "loose" them temporarily. A good network scanner, like this, is essential to that finding task. Now I give this 5 stars with a caveat. This is a good enough, solid enough and easy enough to use tool for my work. It's not perfect or super solid. It crashes. Sometimes you need to re-start it to flush out old info with a new scan (e.g., after changing something on the network). But, as only a few people would ever need a tool like this, I find it amazing that it is as well developed as it is. The handy IP Scan alone is worth the price. The ease of drilling down on the information and its inclusion of features like finger printing are really great. I love that you can give your own names to devices as with all that configuration, the network names can change unexpectedly (configuration mistakes). So I like the tool.

Good tool, graphical alternative to nmap

Good tool, but I think that the 24-device limitation for the “home” version is silly— the type of person who is going to use a tool like this is going to have more than 24 devices now days, with everything from light bulbs to thermostats grabbing IP numbers. (I have over 50 devices on my home network that have IP numbers.) I think a more generous alotment is in order for paid users. $10 for the app is fair, but another $25 to remove the device restriction seems a bit steep for home users, especially since this is, for the most part, a graphical alternative to a free tool like nmap. That said, the app works as advertised, and supports adding custom icons, names, and detailed notes for each device entry, which is handy. It allows you to generate reports in a variety of formats, and can alert you when new devices join the network. I find this tool useful, and it is stable and does its job. The UI could be improved, and I wish the iCloud syncing (neat feature, by the way) allowed me to share data with iOS devices using the iOS version of the tool (which is also a good app.)

Great app, but no Microsoft Watch icon

Still a mainstay of my network management (now 20 devices, unless I missed turning some on for this scan). Very well designed, does what I need. But… No Microsoft Watch icon that I can see! Oh noes! :-) — Jun 01, 2017: This app has been getting fairly continual enhancements and bugfixes. I find it to be a (increasingly) reliable and useful network tool, and am very glad I found it a few years ago. — historical review follows Last week I submitted an enhancement request to allow choice of export format in the Export dialog (it had been hidden away in Preferences... where I didn't expect it and couldn't find it). Well, this week, I see this new version implementing that feature, probably in response to my request! This is what I was after. Thanks, Guys!

    Great App, worth paying for

This is a great app. It finds everything on my network. With enough info to figure out what some of the really odd devices were, like a Parrot SA device. (don’t google it, they’ll just track to) The ability to rename stuff is very useful. I’m very happy to actually pay for stuff I use and I use this app.
