ToyViewer Overview

What is ToyViewer? ToyViewer is an image viewer and editor that supports various image formats, including HEIC and WebP. It allows users to quickly start and display images in full-screen mode. The app can also scan folders and archives to display images one by one or in a slideshow. Users can perform various image operations, such as rotating, cropping, and adjusting color tone. ToyViewer also provides effects and the ability to attach custom icons to files. The app can display multi-page images and embedded information, such as Exif and GPS data. Additionally, ToyViewer can print images and automatically adjust their size for printing.

ToyViewer Features and Description

1. Images can be displayed full screen (i.e. as a slideshow), one image at a time, or two images side by side like a book.

2. ToyViewer provides various image operations such as rotating and flipping an image, and selecting and cropping a part.

3. ToyViewer has the ability to adjust brightness, contrast, color tone of images.

4. Image files in a folder or a ZIP / RAR archive can be displayed one by one in full-screen (slideshow).

5. ToyViewer is an image viewer, which also provides various editing functions.

6. ToyViewer can display many kinds of image formats, and can save in popular image formats.

7. ToyViewer can attach a custom icon to any file as well as newly saved image file.

8. ToyViewer can also make Aqua-button-like images, make poster-like images, and provides more functions.

9. ToyViewer can also read comic book archive files in CBZ and CBR, because they are ZIP and RAR.

10. ToyViewer has some typical operations for images, such as enhancement, blur, mosaic, and so on.

11. ToyViewer automatically shrinks an image to be printed on a sheet, or divides it into some pages.

    Small tool fills niche

    The Preview application that comes with PC is great, and can handle many image viewing functions. However, ToyViewer fills an important niche. The Effects menu provides many nice image filters. The File/Export supports a lot of formats not supported by Preview. While it does not do a huge number of functions, what it does it does very well. A great simple and free tool that helps me when other bigger tools fail.

    This is a pretty cool app. And it's free.

    What's not to like? It's free, fun, doesn't take up much space, and I made a pretty cool wallpaper with it in less than 5 minutes. It's a little a tricky at first, but don't let that discourage you because it's easy to use after a few minutes. You also don't need an undo option because it layers the effect in different windows in progresssion to one another for comparing and contrasting. So if you don't like the most recent edit all you have to do is click on the red 'x' located in the upper left corner where it should be and try again. And did I say this app is free?

    Terrific lil' application

    Great for playing around with images quickly. Instead of utilizing live preview or undo, it generates a new picture each time you modify the image in any way - which can feel odd at first, but really encourages experimentation. It's extremely easy to do side-by-side comparisons of tweaks. Don't like the filter/effect you just applied? Close the new window (command-w works fine) to get your 'undo'. This 'have to start over' chatter is rubbish.

    Quick and easy

    Works fine (Intel Windows, OS-X 10.8.2), and the price is hard to beat. People should learn to use software before writing reviews! Ignore the "can't undo" nonsense -- every change you make creates a new picture in a new window. Close it, and your previous version is right there. As for "nothing happens": the program launches, the menu bar appears, and you have to OPEN A FILE if you want to see anything.
