Wow and new world open to my hearing!
Just came across this gem of an app a little while ago, wow what a difference it made. The Marines adjusted my hearing and now I have 90db loss at less than 3000 cycles. So I can hear the low frequencies just fine but the high frequencies fall off the cliff. If you want to know what the world sounds like to me take SpeakerAmp and boost the 3 or 4 low frequencies all the way up and the rest of the high frequencies take them almost all the way down. That is my world. I have to stop watching some movies because I can not understand the spoken words. But now with this nifty equalizer and amplifier I can dampen the low frequencies and boost the high, I can actually hear all the words from my favorite singer George Beverly Shea. And this is just in my first profile test. Cant wait to go back and watch some of thoseBritish movies that I could not understand before. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Wish I could give more than just 5 stars.
Lets you adjust volume of HDMI and optical audio output devices.
This is great! Allows you to adjust volume of HDMI and optical audio devices with the normal volume keys, by passing the sound through a virtual sound device first. The developers even explain on their website the minimal battery life hit, with test data, and easily lets you switch back to direct sound for when you don't need it (by choosing the standard output in the OS X stock volume menu). This is perfect, thank you Pavel Kostka!
Great app to adjust volume on USB-C monitor
I have a Samsung USB-C monitor that with most Macs you can't adjust the volume on, it's hard-set by Microsoft. This is a higher-end monitor so the quality of speakers is pretty good, not quite as good the built-in's on the Windows. So this app also has equilize funtions to 'perfect' the quality of the sound output, and it's pretty darn good. The one main issue is the app in the menu bar stops working after a while if you want the drop down options, and you have to kill it in Terminal, or use Activity Monitor to 'quit' the process. Wish they'd fix this bug, been telling them about it.
Make the most of your speakers
I've recently purchased a Harman Kardon speaker system, but a fantastic system can only go so far without a fantastic equalizer. The preset EQ's are very close to what you want for listening experiences/audio fidelity depending on the media. The interface is laid out well enough for those just trying to boost their output gains to those who know a little bit about sound. Thank you SpeakerAmp, for this well made and beautifully functional app!
Blown Away
I've only just recently completed my Microsoft ecosystem with a MacBookPro. When I went looking for apps, it was slim pickins. They all really sucked, or were expensive. I was starting to get frustrated. Then I came across this app - SpeakerAmp. OMG. This is THE best sound enhancer I have found ever. And I'm very picky about the sound of music. I want to feel it in my bones, not just listen with my ears. This fits the bill. I immediately went pro which was stupid cheap for such a great app. I honestly never leave reviews, but I want people to know the quality of this app. Everything has been smooth, snd I could not be happier!
