Fun, missing some depth
Overall, it's a fun game and reasonably worth the price. The UI mechanics are great. It's got that indie feel to it, which means there's no silly distracting fluff, but also means the depth and balance isn't quite there. In particular, the level of difficulty between "Normal" and "Hard" is steep - it would be great to have something in-between. Note that I've got a 2013 PC w/NVIDIA GeForce 750M, i7 w/16G. The game runs just fine for me - I've not had any crashes or stability problems. I'd highly recommend you play with a mouse.
Simply Addicting
A real-time strategy game that has a deceptive amount of depth to it, a very simple way of playing, and an addictive gameplay style. Enemies ramp up in difficulty and require different counters from your units. Sometimes the island itself makes your defense easy, but other times it makes it really hard, and you won't know what bad guys are attacking until they show up. Even when you've worked out some winning tactics, circumstances can randomly make a fight quite a bit tougher than you'd expect. You can upgrade your troops and use special items and abilities, and figuring out how to use this stuff effectively takes a lot of skill and experimentation.
Fun, but want more!!
I just bought the game yestedsay and I really wish there was a PvP online mode, or online Co-op mode. this is one of the better stragtey games I played and I wish I could enjoy the game with my friends.
Love The Game, but BUGGY!!!
I love the game itself, it is a fun, whimesial and challanging game that involves combat but is aimed more at your ability to plan both strategically and tactically. BUT. Every stinking time you move to a new isalnd in the game it induced a bug that caused seizure inducing level flickering that would not stop until you quit the game entirely and restrated. Playing on a year old Windows which is beyond the specs required for the game. C'mon you guys it can't be that hard to test for robustness. That seems like a minimal task before launch. If they fix the bugs I'd be five stars for this game.
