OnSong 2024 Overview
What is OnSong 2024? OnSong is a mobile app designed for musicians to prepare, practice, and perform with ease. The app allows users to import and build their library of chords and lyrics from various sources, including Dropbox, Google Drive, and SongSelect. OnSong supports text-based chord charts, Adobe PDF, and other file types. Users can also manage their library from their Mac or PC using OnSong Console. The app enables users to pull set lists, transpose, capo, and format their text-based chord charts, annotate or draw on the page, and share wirelessly with their team in real-time. OnSong is built for the stage, with features such as wireless foot pedals, intelligent autoscrolling, tempo and time signature assignment, digital pitch pipe, and MIDI events automation. The app also offers powerful video features, including displaying lyrics on a projector or HDTV, composing custom backgrounds, and running stage lighting. OnSong offers two subscription options: OnSong Essentials and OnSong Premium, with the latter providing more advanced features such as annotations and drawings, backing tracks, click tracks, and premium technical support.

Awful
I had the original OnSong and it was very useful. I downloaded 2022 and now nothing works without paying. I’ll delete it and look elsewhere, your money grab will not work on me
the app is so bad
can you put onsong 2020 back in AppStore it's free but much better than this new app
ABSOLUTELY THE WORST!
Software developers have GOT to be kidding! I’ve spent ‘DAZE’ researching this app before I tried purchasing it - videos; Reviews; Reading the manual, among other things, from trying to figure out WHICH version to download, and then trying to ‘upgrade’, (our studio has purchased one version so far and trying to purchase a 2nd; we can’t get it to sync with our Dropbox acct; can’t get it to do ANYTHING on either i-pad- can’t import songs; can’t import from e-Mail; I’m VERY CLOSE to cancelling both ATTEMPTS to purchase and never looking back at this ‘piece of work’ - AND THE WORST OF IT IS YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE - I’ve sent a MINIMUM of 5 e-mails to your ‘support’ in the last day and can’t get a response from anyone. There are MANY other businesses that will at least respond, pandemic or not. If I can’t AT LEAST get a phone call, chat session, or personal, non-robot generated e-Mail in the next day - I’ll take my money elsewhere - and post this review EVERYWHERE I can. I’ve devoted my entire life to this business, and have many hundreds of thousands invested in this studio; and frankly don’t have the time to fool around with this kind of crap. And in this city, in the hundreds of musicians we deal with, VERY FEW HAVE HEARD OF ONSONG - AND ABSOLUTELY NONE OF THEM ARE USING THE APP.
Almost there
The biggest thing for me is the native Windows version. I've been using the console to screen share my lead sheets in my open mike Zoom sessions ... works, but a bit kludgy and clunky. Now I can just run OnSong on the Windows directly ... Hooray! However ... they haven't yet implemented the factory stock Microsoft behavior where all devices work on the same files, like when you're editing a file in Pages or Numbers, or whatever, you can switch back and forth between the Windows, the iPad, the iPhone and pick up right where you left off. As of now, their only way to keep all your devices sync'd is to designate one device as the "master", and when you've finished your edits, back up the library, then do an import/restore on the other devices. PITA. Speaking of "PITA'S" ... the new "clips" feature doesn't offer anything useful in additional capability while it's still pretty buggy. My library is about half and half between native OnSong format lyric/chord sheets and imported scores in PDF format. I don't need (or want) different formats of the same song linked together as "attachments". Also ... if you click the "clips" icon in an existing file and it comes up empty, showing no file ... DO NOT click the edit button at the bottom of the panel or you will lose everything in that song. Be forewarned.
Frustrating App
This app has a lot of potential, and I liked it when I first started to use it back in Fall 2021 for work. Now, I find that I have an issue nearly every time I try to use the app in any way: adding music, reading music, etc. I’ve had issues with Console, syncing music across devices, being logged out every few minutes, and had keys changed in my music when I would sync across devices. I’ve reached out for support in December, but there’s a 1-2 week turn around with any communication. The online manual is unclear and poorly written: I can’t understand what I’m supposed to do or where to find the information I need. I realize it’s a small company, and I do not want to give this a bad review. But I’m out of ideas of how to make this work and don’t know where else to look. I am, frankly, unsure how much longer I can keep using an app that’s so inconsistent and unreliable. I’ve heard great things from colleagues who use this app regularly and have done so for years, but I have not had the same experience as a relatively new user
