    Device not supported

I tried download this app to scan some documents to my computer and I have the HL-L2380DW. I cannot connect the printer to my Windows because it keep saying the device is not supported. Is there anyway to fix this?

    solid app to scan documents

I downloaded this to use with my new Brother all-in-one. For the most part it works very well and easy to use. It is definitely limited when it comes to scanning options, such as fine tuning the color, but overall the app does exactly what it is designed to do. My only real complaint is that the scanning interface allows you to scan multiple documents as a new page but it provides no way to re-arrange or delete pages you have scanned.

Big improvement over Windows’s Image Capture utility

The interface of this app works just fine on my Windows, and it has hugely improved quality and setting flexibility for scans with my Brother MFC-J6945DW all-in-one printer/scanner. Previously to downloading this, I was using the Windows’s default TWAIN driver with Windows's Image Capture, and all my scans had what appeared to be JPG compression noise (even with files saved to an uncompressed format). This app has been the icing on the cake for the best printer I’ve ever owned.

Keeps downloading in French and doesn’t scan multiple pages to 1 dcoument

I even tried contacting Brother support, but they were unable to help me out with the English version of the software. There isn’t a place in the settings to switch the language. I can get by with the basics of it, but trying to figure out a work around for the scan issue is impossible for me in French. And when I asked support how to do that, they said it can’t be done, which seems insane since every other scanner I’ve used can save individual scans to 1 document. This just seems like a terribly thought out app that needs major fixes.

Opt out of sending device info

Software works OK, but you may want to opt out of sending them usage and device information, which they would otherwise collect. The “privacy” policy allows them to record your printer model, serial number, location of your device, printing date, number of printed pages, types and sizes of paper, ink consumption, language information, IP address, OS type, printing date, quantity, and the types and sizes of paper. Although they promise this information will not be used to identify you without your consent, clearly it can (serial number, if you registered, and IP address, for example), and they may use that data for marketing. Finally, all that information “may be stored in Servers located in countries without an adequate level of protection for personal data compared to that in your country ....” So, go to Settings > Product Information and uncheck the Send Information box.
