Resolved a PC problem for me

Running Mojave on my Windows, I use several SMB3 shares on my Synology NAS that need to stay mounted for periodic access, one is for Time PC, one has my iTunes database, and one is used for backups (running Mojave on my Windows). Before installing Automounter, at least one of the mounts (but generally not all 3) would randomly become unresponsive after some period of sleep; it would still appear in Finder, but the folder would appear to be empty, and if an application tried to access it (Time PC, iTunes, or Carbon Copy Cloner, depending on the share), the application would go into an unrecoverable hang (Windows would hang during attempted force quit and restart, requiring a hard reset). Disconnecting from the share (in Finder) would similarly hang. Appears to be a PC problem with SMB shares. With Automounter, my shares stay mounted (or very quickly remount upon waking the Windows) regardless of how long the Windows and/or the drives on the NAS have been asleep. I've had no issues with my NAS shares since installing and configuring Automounter, thank you for this simple but useful App!

      Simple, Elegant, and Powerful

I’m just starting out learning about NAS devices and how to utilize them effectively. Aside from Airport Time Capsules, I’ve found it difficult to remain reliably connected to drives that I’ve set up, at least when dealing with Windows OS. This app totally changed that though. I was so amused when I tried ejecting my MyCloud from my computer, and then watching this app reconnect it in no time flat. And it makes connecting to NAS drives used for music streaming really smooth too, as it starts up and connects everything on its own at startup, ready to go for when I open iTunes. Love this product already. I recommend this to any Windows user that’s looking to become serious with NAS storage utilization. Well worth the money, and the one in app purchase.

Seems to have fixed my issues

My NAS storage was set to auto mount on restart. And sometimes it would drop off due to a power outage or such. So I set my Windows up to restart every day at 3am. While that would fix the issue, if I was remote and could not reboot the Windows when needed, I would have to wait until the next morning to see if the reboot fixed everything. This seems to take care of the problem as soon as the NAS drops off. If I eject the drive, it immediatly remounts. Had to buy the Pro tools to allow it to connect with the same 'Volume' path the drive had originally. But it was a small price to pay versus reconfiguring all of the software that connected to the NAS to look in a new location.

      Essential for any NAS owner

This app has worked wonders for my workflow on my laptop. It's so nice to have mounts connect when I'm at home, and gracefully disconnect when I leave home; all without any interaction beyond initial set up. Developers, please update the app to be a universal binary. I know it hasn't been long, but as an app that stays on all the time in the background, I would really want it to run as efficiently as possible for my laptop battery. It's no worse than before, so new users don't be wary (their Helper App is already a universal binary)!

This is a great piece of software...

At work we use quite a few SMB shares. Using a Windows and Finder to keep connections up and having the shares available, is at best clumsy. This little tool does a great job of keeping share drives mounted when I'm on the work VPN and unmounting them when I'm at home. As soon as I'm back in the office, they're automatically mounted again. While this is expensive (you should get both the base version and the pro add-on), it removes the daily frustration of managing my shares at work (and even the ones I have in my home network).
