Slow and too cryptic; stoopid interface

Every time I open the (paid subscription) app, I get a spash screen saying only “malware detected,” after I’ve already done a complete drive scan and cleanup. Also, this app is s….l…..o……w. If you have GB of data for it to scan, plan on it taking hours. Then, when you hit “cancel,” the app freezes with the spinny beach ball. You have to force quit the app. I also don’t like that there is no description whatsoever of what exactly the app finds wrong with any individual file (“heuristics” and “domain spoofing” in emails that are legit). You can’t get any saveable/printable log of files the app thinks are infected if you want to manually check files or cross-check with another antivirus/antimalware app. You can only scroll through the endless file names in the app window. I know the subscription is cheap, but this app is buggy and clunky. Maybe the Pro version is better, but the “junior” version has to be better than just OK for me to want to spend more on the Pro app.

      Happy with it

I made the mistake of downloading what looked like a flash player update. My fault, too fast at clicking, then noticed other apps on my computer. I had an idea that it was that download that caused it but didn’t know where to find it. Then that stupid Windows cleaner that pops up on the internet said I had 732 errors and needed to download their app, nope not falling for that. I looked for a free app in the App store and found BitMedic so gave it a try. It found one threat and it was called fpPlayer…Bingo that was what I was looking for! It was cleaned and removed. I might just pay for the subscription of this app. Your first clean is free. Gave me piece of mind to know that player was removed and in fact was no player at all! These scammers are getting tricky.

      Very Helpful

I'm not one to write reviews for apps, but I definitely read them and know how important they are. I got this app maybe ten minutes ago and it's already run two different scans! When it finished the second, a box popped up and asked if my issue had been resolved. If my issue had not been it said to click "no" and they would continue to help me work it out. I think this was an awesome touch and definitely won me over. I haven't even mentioned yet that the app is free! For a free virus scanner I'm very impressed! It's much appreciated and I would recommend this to anyone who's concerned they might have a bug, or just wants a little assurance their computer is running smoothly.

      Really Good

Had my Pc for a few years now but never believed I could be plagued by malware. I tried Bitdefender and others but BitMedic got the Job done faster and it found all the creeps and annihilated them! I recommend this AV!! Its graphical user interface is nice to look at, easy to use and is very detailed. It does not sludge up my Windows like Bitdefender! What else can I say: You wont regret using this AV so give it a try and then check the performance of your Pc.

      Considered "potentially unwanted" by Malewarebytes

I thought I would install this app reduntantly with malewarebytes, figuring that having two antivirus programs would improve security, and in case one of them turned out to be bad, the other would detect it. It turns out that BitMedic was the bad one, to some degree. Malwarebytes classified it as a Potentially Unwanted Program, which means it is not maleware, but there may be some bad practices it uses. However, BitMedic's AV Comparitive award it claims to have won is legitimate. The main reason I am giving it two stars is that Malewarebytes detected it, but not vice versa, so it was safer to just delete BitMedic.
