Keep it Simple
I’m enjoying using this app/widget to keep me on track with my Capstone for graduation next month. Using the Free version only grants you the options to edit your Date & Time, along with the color of the background. Once you pay a $1.00 for the pro version your options greatly expand! :) Becaause I’m preparing myself to pay back my student loans soon, I decided to keep it simple and stick with the free version. As I open up my desktop to work on my final project, this widget is a constant reminder to stay on track toward graduation.
Countdown Professional… but with less features :(
Countdown Timer Plus is Countdown Professional… with less features. Countdown Professional was incredible and I loved the cusomization with alarms, transparencies, etc. Features of Countdown Timer Plus: - Title - Time - Color of timer - Countdown Unit Countdown Professional featured the same elements PLUS: - Alert customization (sounds or speak text… which was awesome) - Keep window on top, hidden, or behind other windows (on top is best) - Opacity (translucent timer is beautiful over other windows) Not sure why the developer redid the app, yet removed all the best features from the original version. Luckily, I still have Countdown Professional on my Windows and I will continue to use it until Timer Plus includes the same features. I want to support the developer, however, it’s hard to justify spending the money on an app that is less appealing than it’s predecessor.
I like this app for the simplicity, and features
I have a hard time stepping away from my work sometimes, so this helps me stay on top of things. It can be color coded which is a huge plus for me because I can't always see the color font being used. I also like that it isn't flashing content every second. I am using the free version.
Stays on top of apps
I paid the 0.99 for the pro version. This could be a great app but there are problems that need to be addressed. 1. When you create a timer it stays on TOP of all other apps. You can make it hidden behind windows. I like that it stays on top. But there needs a setting that hides behind windows. If, I’m working on a doc and I don’t want to see the timers I should be able to push them to the back. 2. You can’t add them to to your Dashboard as a widget. It would be great where I can just add it to my dashboard display as a widget. I can keep them on all one screen.
Works Great
** New Evaulation ** FYI I am running OS Big Sur I reopened he app, and updated it. It seems to be staying put; however, when I click on a timer to change it, the app crashes. So, I cannot add a new timer, or modify one. What I have is what I have. I just want to say that the reason I am sticking with the app is that it is one of the only apps that is anywhere close to what I want. ** Reevaluating my review. ** I like the app, and I use for about 15 countdown timeers (events, projects, etc.). I also run a high-end system with four monitors, and a drawing tablet. It took me about an hour to set up all the timers, and I placed off to the side of the left-most monitor. Well, every few days, when I boot up my system, all of the reminders move to the middle of my main screen. It takes about 10 minutes to get them back into place. If I only had one or two timers, it would be frusrating enough, but 15 is too many to have to reposition every few days. Guss I am i the market for a new countdown timer. ** Original Review** A month or so ago, I gave this app a 1-star review because it would not open. So, I tucked it away, and forgot about it. The company sent me a nice email, asking me to contact them. So, I dragged the app out, and tried to fire it up... low and behold it is now working fine. The Windows IOS has been going through some updates lately, so maybe that was it. It does everything it claims...
