Best one I’ve found.
I’ve tried many screen-capture apps and I think this is the best one so far. Seems simple but one of the best parts is that you can move your little arrows and stuff around AFTER creating them. You can change the size and color of the text. A lot of these apps don’t yet have these functions. You can copy the image to your clip board (no need to dirty up your desktop with lots of random screenshot files) but if you need to of course, you can save to your computer. Bonus is you can use it to measure things by pix on your screen and just esc out after you’re done. It also lets you readjust your selection after creating it. These are all the things I look for in a screen cap app, and this one hits on them all. Also, it doesn’t get too bogged down with stupid intaragtions like connecting to drop box or other such services. Light weight, fast, easy to use, and doesn’t get in the way.
I’ve tried them all…this is the best. Immediate and quick editing. Simple and quick capture option
I have tried at least 4 other simple screen capture apps, in addition to OSX’s native capture. What differentiates Snapshot Editor: Customizable capture hot key commands and more importantly, the ability to quickly edit a captured image (annotate, box, etc.) with a quick “copy” for export, or export to other image formats. I use this app about 15 times/day to clarify emails and Slacks. I see low ratings and I don’t get it…this app has been flawless and does exactly what it’s designed to do. Great app, great value.
Perfect for my needs
Over the past few years, the supply of simple, solid, and efficient snapshot packages has diminished. Some applications have simply disappeared; others have become so cumbersome and bloated that they are difficult to use. So Snapshot Editor is a breath of fresh air! It’s fast, simple, well-designed, and flexible. I think it’s perfect for capturing key news items on the Internet, annotating them, and saving them to a variety of formats—especially PDF. I’m optimistic that I’ll find lots of other uses for this excellent application.
Very nice screenshot app - well worth it
This is a very nice screenshot app, and I’ve used many of them. It’s great to be able to tweak your selection after having selected a region to capture. And annotating with vector graphics instead of bitmap graphics is a nice convenience. Easy to use and solid. I have one request: Give me a control that automatically draws a 1-pixel black frame around the captured image. This is useful when you capture just a region but want to include the capture in documentation. Looks better with a frame. Nice work!
