    Beautiful and cleverly designed

Xnip is a beautiful and cleverly designed screenshot and annotation app, but misses a few features. - Cross hairs that extend to the screen boundaries both horizontally and vertically to make it easier to make screenshots of things that are not square, and don't have distinct boundaries. - A way to organize, easily rename and edit screenshots within the app once they have been saved. Currently users are forced to go through the finders "Open With" contextual menu option and then scroll to the bottom of the list in order to annotate a screen shot once it has been saved.

exactly what I needed for studying

this is probably my first time writing a review ever. I study a lot and always take screenshots to quickly pan back to the materials. however, they are always a big hassel to delete, Ill spend at least 10 mins monotonmusly deleting them from the Windows's "preview" which takes forever. with this, I can take the screenshot and click the red X buttom to quickly delete It. thank you so much. hope you consider giving me a free upgrade to the full version for this great review. haha

    GENIUS!

I've been searching for a good screenshot annotation tool since Skitch was bought by Evernote (2011) and none of the apps I've tried were even halfway decent. That is until I came across Xnip today. IMO, this app does screenshots and annotations PERFECT (well, very close - I would love a blur tool in addition to pixelation). Anyway, this tool is going to save me so much time. I take hundreds of screenshots per week. This app is so clean and simple. This developer really understands how to make a high quality app!!!!!! Well done!!!!

The perfect screenshot tool, I have a suggestion.

I've used a lot of screenshot tools and this is the most simple and efficient one I've ever used, and it was developed by us Chinese, yay. I do have one suggestion, maybe you could include an image compression option that automatically compresses screenshots when saving to disk or pasteboard, this may have an impact on save speed, but you could find a balance and leave the choice to the user.

5 Stars for a free tool that rivals paid ones

This would be a 4 star app if it wasn't free. It does a better job and has features some paid apps don't. Like this better than the defacto SnagIt (though it lacks video support like SnagIt has, but SnagIt is $50). It's only shortcoming is that because it's all on screen editing in the snip itself and isn't saving to file, you can easily lose your work if you click off the screen or escape (something you tend to do by muscle memory to get out of a tool). The developer should charge a buck or two for this and it would be beyond worth it and maybe see some updates like that file format/save that one shouldn't expect from a free product. Great job on this!
