MediaInfo Overview
What is MediaInfo? MediaInfo is a software application that displays technical and tag data for video and audio files. It provides information on the container, video, audio, subtitles, and chapters of the file. MediaInfo supports various file formats and allows users to view information in different formats such as text and tree. It also offers export options and can integrate with the shell. The macOS version requires a small fee, which includes all the features mentioned. Additionally, there is an In-App Purchase option for more features such as preference settings and file comparison.
1. This version also contains an In-App Purchase (choice between a yearly subscription and a one time purchase) with more features including more preference settings, the comparison of several media files, and more to come.
2. MediaInfo is a convenient unified display of the most relevant technical and tag data for video and audio files.
3. The small fee is for helping us in the development costs of the PC version, and contains all the features cited above.

Indispensible Little Gem of an App
I use this thing all the time. I get useful information out of it and people think I'm some kind of wizard. The new JSON output is great. (pretty-printed would be even better!) But the feature I'd like the most is to be able to compare two (or more) media files and quickly identify just what's different. UPDATE: It's arrived, and it's totally worth the modest subscription price. It instantaneously highlighted some unexpected differences in two similar media files that were behaving differently in Plex Media Player, things that I hadn't noticed when just going back and forth between the reports. Minor nitpick: For the next update it would be nice to be able to close an individual file to remove it from the compare view. Also, reordering the columns. But seriously these are very minor. This app is unquestionably the best available wrapper for the awesome MediaInfo library.
Really Great
Does exactly what I need it to. I only with that you could have multiple working windows open displaying different individual file information to compare.
Elegant, Thorough, and a Bargain to Boot!
This well designed little app does exactly what I need it to do - give me background details about different video files. At this near-giveaway price, I recommend it for anyone who works with video, professionally or casually.
Preferences for TAB
I love mediainfo! I'm a very heavy user of this great App and I will kindly sugest a new feature: which is a preference pane to control the initial Tab that will be used when open the program. On my case I use all the time the Tree View Tab. (I never use the "easy view") A second option is to remeber the last Tab view, so when we reopen the app, the tab view will be the last one used.
Simple and usefuly utility, well executed and robust for its purpose
This is an awesome little app which does one thing: tells you exactly what is inside your media files. It does this extremely well. It accepts every video file format that I'm aware of. The GUI is lean and straightforward. The output is detailed and efficiently presented. This app is far better than the built-in info functions in IINA or VLC, which I have used in the past. It’s really useful for managing and tidying a (video) media library---you can easily see which files are bloated with audio tracks, which are lower quality than you want, wrong language, etc. It feels like it should be built into the Windows operating system. 1. For side-by-side, I made a copy of the app in Applications and run two instances next to each other. This is at least 90% a good enough solution. 2. You can choose to open a whole folders of media files. After a minute or two for several TB of movies, the files are listed in the drop-down menu (nonalphabetically!!! CC: devs). You can easily go back and forth between them. Close to perfect utility app
