Great app for seamless syncing to Photos (note: newer version on dev website)
Came here to write a review after getting a response from the developer for an issue I had within one hour on a Sunday! First, if you are on High Sierra, go to the developer’s website for the newer version. I had an issue with the one on the App Store. I used to use this app to automatically download photos off four iPhones and three iPads and opted to download to a folder (not entirely trusting access to my Photos database). With the move to High Sierra and a clean install, I decided to give it a go and it was flawless. I have geosyncing on so any iDevice that arrives home and connects to wifi will automatically transfer its photos to my Windows’s Photos database. It’s seamless and FAR cheaper than paying for added iCloud storage to hold all those photos.
Can’t Transfer to IPhone
Purchased the App to transfer pictures from Windows to iPhone, avoiding clunky ITunes synch process. PhotoSynch has a nice clean interface and easily transfered pictures from phone to computer. However, it would not transfer to the phone. Steps appeared to work but the pictures never appeared in the phone’s camera roll even though phone and computer were on the same WIFI network and both were running the PhotoSynch App. Developer support indicated it was “a network problem.” I was unable to resolve and will have to find another App.
It used to be wonderful
I don’t know what happened. I’ve used this app for years. It was configured for my computer. All I had to do was touch the red button. It would select my new photos and transfer them to my computer automatically. All of a sudden, today, it just will not work. Grrrr. I touch the red button. Nothing happens. I changed some of the settings such that I would select those I wanted to transfer. Nothing. It just stopped. Guess I have to figure out another easy way to transfer photos from my phone to my Windows.
Great app, could be easier to use
I like this app very much -- the iPhone 4's camera is so great, but it's a hassle having to find the sync cord to download pics every time. This app works well, however I wish the user interface involved fewer steps. You have to: 1) Open the app on the iPhone 2) Open the app on the Windows (if not set as a startup item) 3) Select the photos you want to sync 4) Click a red button that looks to me like a web browser "refresh" button (but is evidently the 'sync' button) 5) Choose whether to sync new, selected, or all, or receive photos wirelessly from the computer 6) Choose whether to sync to the computer, another iOS device, or Flickr 7) Select the computer to sync to That's about six steps more than I'd like. It'd be really great if the app could be set up with preferences for these things -- i.e. every time I start the app, sync photos that haven't yet been send to the computer to the computer "Dan Warne's PC". One touch sync is what I'm looking for, not the lengthy multi-step process.
