Former Flash Teacher Found His Zen

I spent 6 years of my life teaching intermediate and advanced Flash classes at my local community college. Near the end of that the writing on the wall was becoming more and more clear... Flash was on its way out. At its height, it was a great tool and I lamented its decline and wondered what would come along to replace it. Now we have Hype and we are better off for it! Based on web standards it just works everywhere. No more plugins... no more worrying about how your project will work on mobile devices... no more compatibility issues... just throw it up on the server and it works. You'll be amazed at how easily you can create and publish the simplest or the most complex projects. This is a tool for the modern web that deserves a spot on every developer's dock. Yes there is a bit of a learning curve if you're not coming over from Flash but Tumult has some great tutorials that make everything clear - plus you can find some quality Hype instructional videos on YouTube to help get you started. If you are coming from Flash, the interface will seem quite familiar - you will be able to easily adapt to working in Hype. I was up and running after a couple of days of playing around with it and haven't looked back. I've been on board since Hype 2 and happily paid for every upgrade since and will do the same for future upgrades. Tumult really stepped in and filled the gap with a fantastic tool that brings HTML5 development to the masses and it's worth every penny. Big thanks to the developers at Tumult for continuing to grow and evolve Hype - you guys are awesome!

Amazing App and Community

I picked up Hype when it first came out to try it against an alternative (The now defunct Edge Animate) for a project I was working on. I spent about a week on the ins and outs of both and found Hype way easier to utilize. Since then I've upgraded every time they've launched a major release because the feature set and capabilities continue to grow. I joined the beta program for Hype 4.0 and found the addition of Vectors to be a game changer. I can't wait to see what this small but mighty production team comes up with next. The community presence behind it is amazing too. I started as a novice and through the collective wisdom of the Hype community have come to learn a ton of techniques that have enhanced the things I've created in this software. Can't wait to beta test 4.5 and every release thereafter :-)
