1. This incredible software is originally the amazing work of Mark Pazolli and many others (see the credits in the user guide).
2. Imagine GIMP/Photoshop "light" - most of the features non-professionals need to create awesome images.
3. This is an easy to use but powerful image editor.
4. It supports "layers".

Longtime user
I’ve been using Seashore since about 2005. Its one of the first things I install on a new Windows. It is the tool that I use to resize, rotate, and adjust the quality/compression of my photos and images from the Internet. Seashore starts up and runs fast, is completely free, and works quite well.
Appreciative longterm user
I don't know when I first started using Seashore, I just know that it was a long time ago before it came to the App Store. It works well and accomplishes the functions that I want for image manipulation without a glut of features. I'm pleased to see it still being suported.
Responsive developer and great app
I’ve been using the GNU Image Manipulation Program for over a decade, and was never smitten with its UI. Seashore fixes the awful interface, terrible name, and is maintained by a super-responsive developer to boot. If you need to edit images, give Seashore a look.
Exactly What I Need
I've been using Seashore for years, and it's the perfect balance of features and simplicity. I like to create images and mashups for a recreational newsletter, and Seashore allows me to get the job done quickly without getting lost in a full-blow editor like GIMP.
Real time saver
This is a compact app that does precisely what I need. When I copy my large CD collection into iTunes, this allows me to take non-square CD covers and using the eye dropper in the foreground and the bucket in the background, fix CD covers to be square without distorting them, I just add some color that is already in the art work, and in a couple steps, square off the cover. Perfect.
