  Worth it

  For years, I have struggled using other programs to perform simple tasks involving photocutting. I could not find the necessary tools with Microsoft office programs. Photoshop was too advance for someone who needs this a few times a year. I literally downloaded this producted, watched the tutorial and was cutting pictures in 5 minutes. Last year, some of the same photo edits would have taken me hours. I’m sure there are many quality photocutting tools available. However, I will never be an editor or programmer, so this program caters to people like me- barely proficient with the current technology.

  I was skeptical… but this really works!

  I had to cut out a large number of faces from snapshots… one set for a project for my son’s third grade class, and another set for a research project regarding perceptions of attractivenss. I am NOT a practiced photo manipulator, so this was taking forever in photoshop. This app saved me MANY hours of tedious work. It is very simple even for those of us with unsteady mouse skills to get a perfect cut-out of a detailed image. Three steps: open original photo, resize selection square to focus on the face, use either the positive or negative selection tool to identify either the object of interest or what you want removed. You do not need to be precise… the app automatically figures out the details! And if it does make a “mistake” (e.g. cutting off that wispy cowlick or interpretting a shadow as part of the face), you can also zoom in and do fine detail work by hand. But, honestly, I haven’t needed to do that… even with kids’ messy hair and very busy backgrounds, the app works incredibly well to identify what it is I’m trying to isolate. It’s kind of magical.

  I really like this app

  I finally found an easy app for removing busy backgrounds and found an added bonus. I’ve been using Instant Alpha in Preview & Pages which works fine for plain backgrounds but doesn’t work very well with either busy backgrounds or keeing the same or similar color in what I want to save. I haven’t had much luck with Lasso/Super Lasso. One feature I love is that it magnifies the image and you can mark a white you want to keep from a white that you want removed. I also like that I can make the background black & white while keeping the main image in color or I can blur the background while keeping the main object in sharp focus. I can use the existing background or drop in something else and still play with the visuals. I’m still learning but this was worth every penny in my opinion. I also save some images in PNG and then transfer them to Pages Layout to add layers and or text.

  Remarkable Results!

  Had to convert 60+ photos by highlighting people in the foreground while reducing/blurring backgrounds—then import all of the images into a video project. With a dangerously close deadline, I reached for Super PhotoCut…thank goodness it performed as promised! Made short work of the photo edits, and the subjects really popped with the background effects. Super-easy, super-fast, and I heard nothing but rave reviews for the images in the video! Great customer support as well—had a separate issue a month later making an elaborate birthday card for a family member. Contacted them and received a reply within minutes. The email walked me through the perfect solution step-by-step, and I was able to finish the task in no time. Happy I chose the right app!
