    awesome

These Hex War Civil War games are the best available. If you loved the old Civil War Generals series then you will enjoy these Civil War games as well. They are very playable and realistic to history. I hope there are more battles, etc. coming in the future. I have all of the Civil War series and they are great. They have different levels of difficulty to continue to challenge yourself. I would like to see campaigns for Grant vs. Lee, Sherman’s Atlanat/march, Shenandoah, Nathan B. Forrest, Hood’s Tennessee invasion, etc. I hope Hex War adds more campaigns/battles soon.

    Good fun.

I am a map game fan. This is a fun one. It’s not as detailed as the classic CIVAL WAR GENERALS 2, but it is still a blast too play. If u love map games, u’ll likely love this!

    Scenario Problems Persist

I reviewed this game a while back because it had quite a number of problems. I wish I could say they are all fixed, but they are not. The game is improved, and some of the earlier scenarios that simply could not be won, are now winnable. However, some of the latter scenarios are still unwinnable. Playing as the confederate in the last group of scenarios you are supposed to either destroy 70% of the enemy army, or kill the general; pretty straight forward stuff. However, when you do break the Union army by killing more than 70% the game announces you won, but plays the losing music and ultimately shows you actually lost the game, just like what happened in the eariler unwinnable scenarios. Again, this game acts as though it were still in beta. I appreciate the fixes that have been done, but there is still more work needed. Also, it is impossible for a Safari user to place a Help Desk ticket at the website. I know, I tried x5 and it would not let me submit the ticket. I then tried other browsers, to no avail. Otherwise, the game mechanics that allowed the AI to do double moves or double fires have been addressed. I still question some of the moves the game allows the AI to do where unformed troops attack through woods to hit formed troops on the other side, and then win the conflict. Overall, this isn’t a bad game; but definitely not the equal of the iPad games or the Windows East Front game. Both of those sets of games are superior in function and content to this game, and I really enjoy this time period. How about a Napoleonic game now?
