Total War Overview

What is Total War? Total War: EMPIRE is a real-time tactics game that combines turn-based empire building with massive 3D real-time battles on land and at sea. The game requires players to use diplomacy, trade, and military force to establish their nation as the dominant power of the 18th Century. Players must decide the strategy behind the development and expansion of their empire, expand their borders through conquest or diplomatic cunning, and take command of the battlefield and patrol the open seas to defeat enemies and shape the contours of history. The game is supported on various Mac models released since 2012 and requires a minimum system requirement of 1.1GHz processor, 4GB RAM, 512MB graphics, macOS 10.15, and 21.1GB free space. The game is not currently supported on volumes formatted as Case-sensitive. Total War: EMPIRE is developed by The Creative Assembly and published by SEGA.

    Greatest Strategy Game Ever... but

    To begin with, the purpose of the game is incredible. Governing a sovereign nation through the in and outs of the all-encompassing political sphere. The ability to strategize in trade, diplomacy, endless military tactics (sea and land), and internal social development is unmatched by any game. The gameplay is nuanced yet immersive and intuitively appropriate. The design of battle scenarios very rich in depthness. Amazing game, the depthness and historical and strategic logic makes one feel like they are playing a Sovereign Simulatior similar to the classic Flight Simulator computer game. There is only one issue, and that is of a bug in Road to Independence that has been commented on before by other users...I appreaciate your attention to the matter. It goes as follows: At the conclusion of conquering the last necessary territory in Road to Independence, a nice little video (greath depth, again) of the concluding arch. You then receive a message congratulating the accomplishement. Not a couple of seconds later, without clicking on the Check confirming the receipt of message, the screen shifts back to the game's home screen. Honestly, greatest game I have ever played. I am a huge fan of the Total War series gameplay, but the contexts of the time period in this one is unmatch. Just please fix the bug--it would make this game Perfect.

    Great Game

    I personaly think this is an incredible game. It has such a broad map and is very enjoying. There are also multiple factions to pick from which are either small, and made to expand quickly, or an already great empire to conquer a whole continent. Not to forget you can play as the natives. There is also a playthrough of the American road to independence. I don't give it a full 5 stars because the large map makes it take lots of disk space, making it crash. Other than that, this is probably one of the best total war games on the market, especially with the price given.

    Suggestions….

    I may be a lone here, but I actually find myself enjoying the Political & Economical aspects rather than War; unless they are major battles, i’ll usually automate it. Is there a game that is similar that includes more of the nation building like this? I love this game and highly recommend it. Honestly, you could not have picked a better time in history than the 18th century to create a game where you have control over the 3 pillars of government: Political, Economy and War/Defens. And just as the title suggests…the focus of this is War.

    Update made it run much better. i hope feral keeps it up

    porting games is hard. they only get the game and make it work on this platform. so problems with the game are there. but it runs without problems now that its been patched
