Minimalistic and I love it
All I want is just a small menu bar app that shows me the outside temperature and retains the look-and-feel of OS X and EnvironTemp is the best I’ve found so far. I like the small outlined graphic depiction of current weather (e.g. rainy cloud, shiny sun, crescent moon) and it matches OS X aesthetic reasonably well. Only complaint is that the small outlined graphic next to the temperature doe not show up when OS X Yosemite is in Dark Mode! It appears when you click on widget in the menu bar; when the menu bar area is highlighted blue, you can see the graphic drawn, but it’s black — not white like it needs to be. Fix that and this app is perfect! Temp readings may be a liiiitle bit off, but UI-wise, it’s nearly perfect. A+++++++ would buy again.
Inaccurate...
Though the app works, the temps are way off. The data provider (OpenWeatherMap) is consistently off by 10-15 degrees. I tried multiple zip codes to see if it was something with a particular location but they are all off. Need a better provider for temps.
NOT A FULL REVIEW: App will not open
A full review can not be written because the app will not open (Mid-2007 Pc, Intel core 2 duo, OS X 10.7.5). I can't speculate how extensive this issue may be, but I would recommend avoiding this app if you have OS X 10.6 or 10.7, until the developer corrects these issues.
won't launch
Won't start on my 10.8.5 laptop. Now I have to figure out how to remove it.
