UnderTheWX Features and Description

1. UnderTheWX reads weather data off the popular AcuRite USB Professional Weather Centers and uploads it to Weather Underground, Weathercloud, PWSWeather, WOW and CWOP.

2. UnderTheWX supports the AcuRite 01025, 01036, 02032, 02064 and 06037M USB Personal Weather Stations.

3. If you do not own an AcuRite station, you can use this App to display the weather from any WUnderground station as long as you are a WUnderground contributor.

4. The app is a Status Bar Menu which displays Temperature, Humidity, Wind speed and direction, Rainfall and Barometer.

    Awesome - works with Weather Underground!

    I've got Weather Underground on my iPhone & iPad, but was disappointed to not see a corresponding app for Windows OS - until I found this. Basically, this is designed to connect to your own personal weather station, but allows you to log into other WU stations on the network if you know the station name. You just have to set it up in the app preferences. I couldn't get the station search to work via the app, but that was easily fixed by going to the WU website and finding stations around my location. Not all stations will be accessible (likely due to the owner's access preferences) but with a little trial and error i found a few that worked for me. Simply look at the map on the WU website for stations around you and click on one close by. That should bring up a page for that station which has the station ID name listed. Copy / paste the name into the app's Station ID field and click 'test'. If it works, it'll say connected successfully. If not, find another station and try again. Great little weather app - thanks!

    Works Great!

    I have managed to utilize this app to collect the data and use it for my needs. Using it with an Acurite 5-in-1 actually makes using this weather station with a computer work! It collects data every few seconds whereas the manufacture software can only collect every 12 minutes. It sends data to a number of personal weather collection services. Even collecting data and sending it to these services puts very little load on the system and doesn’t hinder it in any way.

    I waited two long years…..

    ….. I bought an Acurite 5-in-1 two years ago and it has never uploaded date to Weather Underground. I knew if I waited long enouch, someone would make an app to fix this known problem with no known solution. It took me less than 5 minutes to get my weather station to finally do what it’s supposed to do! Thank you so much! (Oh. The fix? Setting the USB to 4. Who knew?)

    The BEST!

    This little app works great! First app I always install on every computer. Personal Weather info in my status bar is just what I need. Been using this app for years (with Accurite system and now with my Ambient Weather system) and it works (even before the latest update) on my new M1 MBP. So easy to share to various Web Weather Services too. I would install UnderTheWX Right Now!
