      Ver 2.2.0

I’ve only been playing this for a few days so I may not have discovered everything yet. It does run very well in El Capitan. I’d like to have a bit more control over the game. The menu is very simple. Make choices from an ample selection for the background, the shape and markings of the tiles and then play. I don’t know if there are other ways to control the game yet but after playing one set, it moves on to a different layout. So far, it’s been fairly easy to play … some lay outs are harder than others. I really like the background music and am enjoying the play. The other MJ game I had allowed me to play against myself in that it kept track of the time it took me to clear the board. I still kind of miss that but, again, I’ve only played this one for a few days. I do recommend trying this one out.

      Old guy

You can tell by my title that yes, I’ve probably played this game for a long time. Yep, back when a hard drive was reading floppy (as in truly floppy) discs. It has come a long way and almost too many versions. I am so pleased with this particular one because it has much of what the original idea was all about and the options available are not too overwhelming but yet nicely done with those that are included. The soundtrack is nice but wish it was longer before looping over. That is no big deal however. The colors and graphics are outstanding too. Overall if you are wanting to play the Mahjong game in and of itself, this is definately the game to get. Nicely done in every respect. I am extremely pleased with this game!

      Fun for years to come

I've been playing this game from way back in the late 90s to currect. I noticed this app was avalible for my Macintosh computer and I had to have it. The music is soothing. The background options are fantastic and don't get me stareted on the tile options you get standard with this game. If you love matching tile games. I promise you, this game is for you. I spend hours on my macintosh playing this game. My wife trys to push in and play as well. Do I recommend this game? Absolutely. I love the 3D feel of the tiles The music with the Macintosh surrounds you in an atmosphere of soothing music. (Macintosh PC 16 late 2019 i9 AMD 5500M pro Radeon)

      Second Mahjon

A friend recommended the game as she plays mostly with cards. I tried one version from Windows APP store and was not impressed. I tried another version, this one, and liked it much better. A simpler way to play, matching the tiles against the clock. I still have not figured the strategy behind the game yet, but I do enjoy playing with what I have figured out in only a few days. I am sure there are many options (music, tile styles, background, etc), but I have found the different “boards” (tile layouts), HINT or NO HINT options, restart/reshuffle, a good start for me. A daily special is also provided from the maker/designer which is also enjoyable. Time is calculated on your skill. As a new player, I have found I do like this version and recommend it.

Entertaining but with a couple annoying flaws

I find myself clicking on a tile 2, 3 or more times before the tile is selected. This is because the tile selection only occurs when the mouse button is released. If you move the mouse before releasing the left button, the tile is not selected. Selection should occur on the click NOT on the release--as every other GUI program works. The second problem has to do with tiles being hidden by the non-tile widgets in the window (upper left and right corners). If you click on a tile in these areas, it is the same thing as clicking on the widget. Panes slide open when you don't want them to. This is a good game with a lot of potential if these annoying "features" would be fixed.
