Moonlight Mahjong Features and Description

1. Challenge Mode: Compete against Tilebot in full puzzle mode, with no automatic reshuffling, only undo.

2. Scramble Mode (the default): Make matches faster than the automated opponent "Tilebot" through increasingly difficult levels.

3. Originally created for touch-screen iOS devices, Moonlight Mahjong on the Windows takes full advantage of a multitouch trackpad, but also can be played with a mouse.

4. Relaxation Mode: Clear boards with no time limit and automatic reshuffle when out of matches.

5. The board is automatically reshuffled when you run out of matches, making this game mode easy (to start!) and fun.

6. The popular 3D Mahjong Solitaire game created for the iPhone and iPad now comes to the Windows.

7. Play arcade-style with progressively difficult levels, or relax with one of the non-competitive game modes.

8. Puzzle Mode: Solve puzzle boards with no time limit.

9. Intuitive control allows you to tilt and turn in virtual reality, allowing you to more easily see the tiles on the board.

10. Challenge requires more strategy than Scramble.

11. Perfect for when you're just not in the mood to strategize or rush.

Pros:

    Extremely Addictive!

The layouts are very interesting, especially when you find hidden exposed tiles. The sound that tilebot makes keeps up the pressure for sure. The only thing I'd improve on is better background graphics, maybe theme packages instead of just a small collection. Even better if the app utilized your own image library. Also, touchpad manipulation is a bit finicky at times. Sometimes I can manipulate the layout, sometimes the entire window wants to move around. It is also difficult to turn the layout in 3D and not have it zoom out or off the edge of the screen.

I have been playing this since it came out…..

What is going on with the speed and difficulty? This is bothering me so much so that I have threatened to quit Moonlight Mahjong every time I play it. It is a great game, but someone thought that it would be a great idea to make level 3 as hard as level 16 is at times. No kidding. The game is disheartening. I have been playing this since it came out and love this game but someone changed the degree of difficulty where level three could be as hard as 12 or 16. Please make each level a stepping stone in degrees of difficulty. Right now it is not. It is ridiculous now. Please listen to your reviewers as this is my favorite game and I just love playing it until recently. Evidently others feel as I do too. Thank you for the creation of this style of Mahjong, as it is the best, but getting sent back to level three with the same levels of difficulty is really getting on my nerves.

Indeed addictive, however, wish there were a "speed control"

I agree with the reviewers about this game being addictive, and that the "variable speeds" are exasperating. The same game is sometimes at a "do-able" rate and other times it is at a "super-player" rate. I wish there were a "speed control" where I could set the speed of the game to be just a little beyond my skill level. On the other hand, when I get peeved at the super-player rate, I stop the game and go do something else. So maybe it is fortunate for me that there is no speed-control option.

I’ll admit it, one of the reasons I finally bought into Microsoft was to gain access to this game!!! could find nothing else like it out in cyberspace…..! I have this on my Windows, iPad, iPhone ….. that being said …. the new layouts are awesome, the speed issue should be addressed tho, and I am wondering why we cannot choose background images on the Windows version as we can with the iPad and iphone version? …sometimes I want a little variety…… have to go and get one of my daily fixes…..tough being an addict to this game!!!

    Maddeningly Ingenious

I've played this game for years. I have no idea what the number of the highest level is. I've gotten to level 40 every time, but I've never gotten higher than 43 or 44. The higher you go, the faster the computer plays against you, and the harder it is to navigate. Maddening. Ingenious. But also quite devilish. As I approach level 40, I can see the evil smirk on the developer's face. Every time I'm stymied, I wipe everything and reinstall the game. I've gotten to level 40 several times without failing a level. But then it's impossible to keep winning. All of this is true on Windows desktops. It's a little less difficult on an iPad, but I go down in flames after I hit the level 42-43 wall. Aaaarrrrrggggghhhhh!
