Drum Beats+
I have been using this App for a year or so now, every day, for practice. I think it is easy to use and a very fast way to get straight to practicing my guitar without any hassle. I am not interested in learning how to write a drum part in a drum program nor have the time to do it. I just find the rhythm I want and go. I have never had a problem with it in either the old or new version for crashing or not working as it should. This is a great App and I recommend it to anyone.
Simplicity is Divine
I like the 5bpm intervals and the intuitive-works-out-of-the-box approach. I like that this app doesn’t crash. I don’t agree with those who want further bells and whistles. All I need is here. As a bassist, I enjoy practicing to this over a metronome because I get a feel of playing with a drummer, which is what I do when I’m playing in jam sessions/live.
Solid. Great for practice.
Works. Simple. Sounds good/way better than a metronome which is really what I was looking for. I hate the metronome tic toc sounds or any sound really and this beats 'em hands down. A couple of times I've wished I could get down under the 60bpm bottom but that's a niggle and doesnt detract from the essential goodness I get here.
no tap tempo, limited tempo selection
This thing is titled “Rhythm Metronome, Loops and Groove PC”. I feel “metronome” is not an accurate description of the product, as it is not a tricked-out metronome and many basic metronome applications are useful for this purpose. If your mind set is “drum beats might be a nice addition to my metronome”, turn back. You cannot tap the tempo, and you can only select from multiples of 5bpm i.e., {60, 65, … 190}, which isn’t that great a range. Seriously? 60 is the lowest value? Apparently the idea of time-stretching samples is technology wayyy outside of the scope of this project. If you think this is basically a software “Dr. Beat” with a drum loop feature: it is not. It is purely a loop tool, NOT a metronome. You can’t even supply your own samples and make a beat as far as I can tell.
Fantastic!
I got this app on my phone a few days ago hoping I can work on my timing on the guitar because that's one thing that I rarely practice. Using a metronome always just felt unnatural and weird to me, so I stayed away from using it which has been a huge mistake because now all my loops are crazy timing messes. I figured there must be a way an app that where I can use a drum loop as a "metronome" and luckily found this gem. It's stupidly easy to use and has tons of drum loops to spice up any practice session.
