Simionic G1000 (PFD) Overview

What is Simionic G1000 (PFD)? The app is a simulator that emulates the primary flight display (PFD) functionalities of the Garmin G1000 avionic system used in small aircrafts such as Cessna 182T, 172S, 172R, 206H, and Beechcraft Baron G58. It can be configured to adapt to piston, turboprop, and jet engines. The simulator includes navigation, inset map, flight plan, flight director, autopilot, and nearly every nob/button functioning like they are on the real G1000. The app is for practice only and does not include MFD functionalities. A separate MFD app can be downloaded from the AppStore to obtain MFD functionalities. The navigation database included in the app may be outdated and different from real life. The app supports FSX, Prepar3D, MSFS2020, X-Plane, and InfiniteFlight and can be used as a stand-alone trainer or as an instrument for these flight simulators. The app requires G1000Bridge(X) to work with FSX, Prepar3D, MSFS2020, or X-Plane. The app is recommended for aviation enthusiasts and pilots to perform IFR training or fly for fun.

    Immensely Useful, Developer is Responsive

This app is great. Having flown with the G1000 in a Cessna 172, I can say that this app (both the PFD and MFD versions) closely mimic the real thing. You can pair it with X-plane over a network. It has at time been glitchy, but it’s good to see that some of those bugs are getting worked out. I wish that flight plans were saved, so that if the app crashed, or you had to pair the MFD with the PFD, your flight plan wouldn’t get wiped out. But with that being said, I did email the developer about an issue and got a response back within a day. Seemed like they really wanted to help. All things considered, this is an essential app. I use it regularly. It helped me prepare for my instrument checkride. Most (not all) of the functionality is the same as a real G1000. Even with what it lacks though, it’s far better than the G1000 in X-plane (which is next to worthless).

    Professional simulation of G1000

This is the best and most complete simulation of G1000 and works not only as a stand alone iPad app, but also in conjunction with MSFS 2020 and other simulators, which makes it perfect to practice. Be sure that all the details have been simulated correctly, so if you can do something on the real unit, you can practice and replicate it in this fantastic simulation. Great job! I am super happy with the fidelity that this simulation brings me to practice while at home, even during hotel layovers where I don’t have my flight simulator setup, just with an iPad I can still practice everything I need. I highly recommend this G1000 simulator.

Excellent learning tool - with a couple major issues

Great G1000 implementation and sim connectivity, but one flaw makes it borderline unusable in a sim - the fact that the hotspots of the dial buttons keep disappearing almost instantly (why not provide an option to display them at all times..??) leads to a *lot* of unnecessary try and error tapping just to reactivate them first, and then you have to be super quick before the disappear again. Using the FMS in particular is basically impossible just because of that. Also, would it be possible to sync the CDI type/source (GPS/VLOC) with the sim..? That would also be very helpful! Lastly, can the FPL be in sync with the sim in the future..?

    Fantastic App

This is quite an achievement. Easy to setup and use. I think it even out-performs the Garmin original sim for PC. I don’t know how you did it, but well done! I look forward to updates if possible. Needs a little work on some of the approach names in the database, but well worth the money if you want to practice getting proficient with the G1000. Following the G1000 guide and training material while demonstrating on the sim with the PDF on one iPad and the MFD on the other works great. 👍👍👍

    Very good app

Very good app, connection works great with the MFD app on a second iPad, also connection with the simulator (I use X-Plane 11) works flawlessly, I’msaving my money to get a second hardware bezel, I have one bezel and it makes the app even better. It works with any plane in X-Plane also. So you can fly any plane with the G1000 that doesn’t have one in the sim. Happy with my purchase, my only problem is the hardware bezel is expensive, but big boys have big toys.
