Software Reviews and Criticism

    Good app, could be better

I do love this app. It is really great for brain storming and planning things out. I've used it as mood boards for event planning and designing graphics. I've used this app for a few years, and it has not really changed or been updated in that time (that I've noticed). There are some things that I wish they would update, especially since you purchase this app upfront -- you kind of expect a higher quality of service. Things I wish they would update or add to the app: - Ability to archive boards no longer in use (but you might still want to be able to access later). - Ability to organize boards into folders.

    Solid board app

This is a really good app for keeping track of reference images, notes, planning etc. The things I’d humbly recommend adding to make it a home run 5-star app would be: - ability to draw on stickies (stylus/cintiq). - ability to change background into a whiteboard you can draw on. - ability to hold spacebar and pan around board, as well as a zoom in/out feature with mouse wheel. Those changes would make this an even bigger part of my daily workflow. Other than that this has been one my favorite board apps for years and remains so.

Very nice application, but could be improved

I can see that I'll be using this app quite a bit. So far, it has worked as advertised. It's not at all bad as it is, but there are a few features I think could be added to improve it. First, consider allowing the items posted on the boards to have titles, and that these be used during import/export. Second, allow multiple boards to be open at the same time and for items to be dragged from one board to another. Third, allow nesting of boards: an item consisting of a tiny image of a board whose title is the title of the board. Double-clicking this would open the nested board (red-buttoning it would return to the previous board). Fifth, consider adding more things to the context menu, such as opening a new note at the click location, duplicating one or more items, or opening a board in another window. Fifth, allow import as well as export. That is, select a folder to be “converted” into a new board. Sixth, there could be an option so that a double-click on an open location of the board will open a new note at that location. Finally, it would be handy to be able to save boards as templates which can be applied when a new board is created. I think that if the app were to evolve in the above direction, it could still be used as it is now, but it would have a raft of additional uses in the creative planning and management domain.
