It could be *so* good...
This is essentially like a beefed-up Camtasia that’s geared toward video editing - I love the concept. The execution is pretty good, but there needs to be some substantial QA put into this before it will be ready to take on iMovie. Most video editors will allow for the play/stop to be triggered by the space bar. Filmora does as well, but sometimes it just decides to exit fullscreen a few times when you’re playing through your video. There isn’t an ability to put a transition between a title slide and a video clip - you can only add them between video clips, which makes for extra work to get a smooth transition betweent titles and video. There are some other small things, but the developers are definitely headed in the right direction. Being able to get additional themes, titles, transitions, and screen elements is something that iMovie is sorely missing, and not everyone wants to take the leap to put in the hours learning Final Cut. I’m hoping they put more QA time into their Windows version, because this would be an absolutely awesome video editing package if they did.
Not Worth It
Truthfully the first couple of times I used this app it was AMAZING! After the third or fourth time using it, it started having glitches and not functioning properly. Here are the issues I typically deal with when using this app: -I have to render my video more often than I sould -I'd have 20 minute videos and it would take up 2 hours to render -Sometimes the app randomly closes and I'll lose my work -Yes even if I saved it and it randomly closed, it doesn't always recover the video so I'd have to start over. -Whenever I have the app open and I move files into a folder or properly disconnect my camera from the computer - again, it will close without saving the wokr (the anxiety I get when I move and hope to not accidently unplug my camera) -IT. IS. SO. SLOW. I editing already taes HOURS but I feel like with this editng software it adds on extra hours because of the amount of times it freezes from simply "cutting" a clip -The list goes on. I only gave it two stars and not one because at the end of the day...long days.. and lots of patience I do get pretty good videos from it. I wish it had more editing feature. I already paid around $70 and it wants you to buy more packages for more features and edits. Truly, I wish I could get my money back but I should've wrote this 6 months ago when I first purchased it. AGAIN, NOT WORH IT - highly dissapointed in this editing software.
Good but disappointing
A friend referred me to this program. I bought it and I love how simple it is and how cool the effects are. It makes my videos look great. However the program has been crashing a lot. I have updated it too. I spent a lot of hours editing a full video of mine and the program then crashed. I opened Filmora again and tried editing the video once again- but there is no video or sound playing. I only see the titles and the transitions as the video plays. And when I export the video- I can see the video but there is no sound. This is quite disappointing and I feel like my hard work flew out the window.
DO NOT PURCHASE
I bought this app a few years ago and it worked great… up until last year. I’ve been getting numerous issues pertaning to lag and glitching, particularly after I save a project and work on it later. Videos on the timeline randomly move position (audio sometimes ends on a clip way after a video stops being shown), transitions rarely work properly, music usually has a mind of its own, and it randomly crashes for no reason and cannot recover the lost project, which just happened to me. Total garbage software, even Windows Movie Maker does a better job than this. I highly suggest anyone just use iMovie (especially if on a budget), but Final Cut Pro X is always the best to use. Wondershare, either fix the problems on the app or simply stop updating it.
