1. MenuTab Pro for Facebook is an incredibly slick and gorgeous app for quickly accessing your Facebook account directly from your Windows's menu bar.

2. Want a no-nonsense clean cut view of your Facebook account? Then the mobile mode is your best bet.

3. Customise the font size, use the right click menu options such as text to speech and make life easier with standard hotkeys like cmd + R to refresh.

4. However, if you do have Growl installed, you'll be able to customise the popup notification bubbles via the Growl app itself.

5. Quickly take a peek at your Facebook account at the click of a button and also via its customisable hot key (ctrl + F).

6. For those that want the full Facebook experience, just toggle over to the desktop mode and enjoy.

7. You do not need Growl installed for these popup notifications to work.

8. A gold icon means you have a new friend request; red is a new wall post/like/poke; and green is a new inbox message.

9. We've made it really simple to distinguish between new notifications via our menu bar icon.

10. Each of the notification types explained above now have their own corresponding notification popup.

11. Use the nifty opacity control slider to determine the transparency of your MenuTab Pro app window.

Fantastic in theory; needs bug removal

If this would run seamlessly, like a Windows app should, I would easily give it five stars. The idea is perfect, but the app needs work. If the developers remove the bugs, I'll be happy to add two more stars to my review.

Awesome

This app is really great. It has saved my bacon from the Timeline feature of Facebook too. I'll probably be one of the last holdouts, but it has been really awesome. The only thing is, I think they should look into whether they can really be forced to call it MenuTab… It used to be called FaceTab, and that is what it SHOULD be called. I was again asked to leave a review. It is still an awesome app. It had a few rough versions, but the last version is quite nice. I never use the Facebook web interface anymore. I usually leave it running. It is pretty great. The only thing it is really missing, is a feature that would sort your Facebook contacts by latest updates so that you could go through them easily (or better yet, present you a feed with all of the “latest” from ALL of your facebook contacts, or at least ones you want included). I know facebook has a few ways to organize things, but really, if this app handled that, it would definitely be better than anything facebook has now, I’m sure.

Thank You Menu Tab

For over 1 month I had issues with FB on my computer ( not on iPhone or iPad just on Windows ) after numerous emails to Microsoft FB help I never got any responses . I could only get 2 news feed at a time and refreshing would only give me 2 . Out fo frustration I began looking in App Store to see if there was app that might remendy this issue . Saw Menu Tab for FB and after reading the reviews decided to go ahead with it . The VERY best decision I ever made . So happy with the results as my FB on Windows began working properly immediately . I like that I do not have to open browser to access FB anymore . Thank You and keep making great useful APPS .

I can’t think of anything significant that it’s missing

I far prefer it to checking Facebook in a browser tab, and I can’t think of anything important that it’s missing. I agree with another reviewer that “MenuTab” is not an intuitive name for it, and that “FaceTab” would be more appropriate, but that’s not a big deal. When I respond to a notification in MenuTab, it doesn’t automatically mark it as having been read - I have to mark it as read - but that’s not a big deal and some people might prefer it that way. It works great, and I like it.
