Infinite Family Tree Explorer Overview
What is Infinite Family Tree Explorer? Infinite Family Tree Explorer is an app that allows users to create, explore, print, and export family tree charts with a compact representation of an unlimited number of generations. The app supports ascending and descending family tree charts from existing genealogical databases and includes detailed information about each person, such as dates, places, notes, and siblings. The app also features a detailed timeline presentation integrated within the tree, powerful filters to add colored labels according to flexible criteria, automatic collapsing and highlighting of implex branches, and smart ordering algorithms to keep the tree graphically balanced and easy to traverse. The app is a complementary tool that imports standard GEDCOM data and does not provide the ability to create or modify a database.
1. Thanks to Infinite Family Tree Explorer’s unique algorithm, you can now draw a compact tree displaying 5 or 6 generations on a single A4 or letter page, or hundreds of people spanning dozens of generations, on a few pages.
2. Maybe your maternal great-grandfather was the second cousin of your paternal great-grandmother? This means that the complete branch of their common great-grandparents should appear twice in your ascending tree… but Infinite Family Tree Explorer detects this automatically, collapses the duplicate branch, and draws a dotted line pointing to the remaining branch.
3. A revolutionary app for laying out, exploring, printing and exporting exhaustive family tree charts (ancestors or descendants) with a compact representation of an unlimited number of generations, including detailed information of each person.
4. Infinite Family Tree Explorer is a complementary app: create and update your database using your favorite genealogical software or website, then import standard GEDCOM data into the app to display your graphical tree.
5. Smart ordering: when a few branches go up to some glorious remote ancestors, while most of the ramifications are cut off, a traditionally ordered tree can become very tortuous; the smart ordering algorithm keeps your tree graphically balanced, harmonious, and easy to traverse.
6. Conventional family tree charts are nice when displaying 3 or 4 generations, but require dozens and dozens of pages for only 5 or 6 generations.
7. Implex support: in many families, some people marry distant relatives, leading to duplicate branches in the tree.
8. Revolutionary timeline! The tree is laid out horizontally, the left margin representing the present, and the right one the distant past (for an ancestor chart).
9. Each person is positioned horizontally according to his exact year of birth, and a graphical bar is drawn to represent the period he was alive, with optional marks for each event: marriages, birth of children etc.
10. Flexibility: collapse some branches to focus on specific people or families; highlight the path between selected remote parents.
11. All this without any restriction on the amount of information you choose to display for each person: dates, places, events, descriptions, comments, siblings, remarriages etc.

What I've been looking for
This provides the tools I've needed for putting family tree together.
Great utlilty for printing genealogy trees (ancestor charts or descendant charts)
This is a fantastic little program. Thankfully, it works with Gedcom files so I don’t have to re-create my family tree. I have over 100,000 people in my database and my 60+ MB Gedcom file loaded fine (albeit, as expected, a little slowly). The reports are nice and highly customizable. If you keep your family tree on ancestry.com, this little program will give you a way to print out much nicer (and more informative) charts than you can do on the web using your ancestry.com subscription (all you have to do is download a GEDCOM from ancestry.com) and import it into this program. Highly recommended! I paid the $8.99 to be able to print charts with no limitations on the number of people, and it was (in my opinion) money well spent.
"Drawer" cannot "Draw"
Yeah I didn't look at reviews either... just saw "family tree drawer" and thought, hey! I can draw out my family tree! NOPE. Must have a GEDCOM file to upload, whatever that is.
You have to upload data, You cannot create from scratch-
Paid for an app to creat a tree from scratch, unless you are uploading from Gedcom then you are out of luck. And no manual. Just FYI Sorry, there is no manual yet. This application can't create new family trees from scratch; it can only display an alternate family tree representation from a database you created in some other genealogy application or online platform. To do so, export your existing database to a gedcom file, then import it in Infinite Family Tree Drawer.
Still can't figure out how to use Infinite Family Tree Drawer
This isn't an easy program to figure out, even using the manual, as it disappears when I'm trying to follow the instructions. I'll need to work with it more, but they insisted I give a review at this time, so this is the best I can say, for now.
