Gret little weather app!
I’ve been using Weather Widget for a few months now and I’m very happy with this app. I started out with the free version, used it for a couple of weeks, then decided to upgrade to the full version. It works greart on my PC, and does everything I need in a weather app. I want to mention that the customer support is excellent. I had a couple of questions, sent an email, and Tom was very helpful. As far as the app begging for reviews, I didn’t have that problem. It asked, I said remind me later, and it was a few days before it asked again. So hereI am giving my review. I definitely recommend Weather Widget. The one thing that would make this app better would be if it had radar included.
Great app. Worth the very fair price.
This app does what it’s supposed to do, and it isn’t in the way. It doesn’t ask for reviews more than any other app, and when I have passed on the reminder it has only been because I like to use an app for a week or two before I decide if I like it. I haven’t had problems with what it displays. I have a beautiful background with black areas, so I like to display the weather information over those areas. On a 5K Windows, it’s an impressive contrast. I don’t do many reviews, but this one deserves five stars. I have it on 4 desktops and 2 laptops, and I think it’s here to stay.
Weather Widget Desktop +
A very good app. It’s colorful, uncluttered and full of what seems to be pretty accurate weather information . I almost gave it 4 stars only because I had a problem figuring out how to move the app around on the desktop. I asked for help and got an email saying they would get back to me as soon as they were able. Guess they were not able because I never did hear back from them. I finally solved the problem myself and because it is such a good app gave 5 stars anyway.
The paid version has some issues
The free version was working perfectly fine. So I thought I'd upgrade to the paid version to get the extra features. It mostly works ok, the biggest problem I have with it (that never happened with the free version) it will randomly decide to most all of the windows out of the way and display the desktop. I have the timout set for 5 minutes, it doesn't even wait that long. Sometimes I can be in the middle of typing or browing for folders and suddenly it'll pop up the dekstop on me. Needless to say, this is EXTREMELY frustrating when you're trying to work.
Great Little App - Accurate, Unobstrusive
I got the paid v to replace Microsoft’s Dashboard widget that died years ago. I work on a ranch, so I have to be exquisitiely tuned in to the weather on an hour-to-hour basis. For the first few days, I checked the app’s data against The Weather Channel, which I consulted every day. I still use TWC for hourly forecasts, but I love the WeatherWidget in my Menu bar. There are a couple of UI things I would do differently, like put the overnight low *after* the daytime high in the dropdown from the Menu Bar in the format x/y where x = daytime high and y = overnight low, but not a major functional issue. It’s just confusing when you want to know whether to blanket your horse at night or not!
