What is GrandPerspective? GrandPerspective is a utility application that visually displays disk usage within a file system using tree maps. GrandPerspective Features and Description

    Indispensible Utility

    I’ve been using this “forever”, probably since it first came out. It’s extremely easy to use, and quickly gives you a lot of useful information in an intuitive format. Over the years, I’ve tried a few other apps that have similar functionality, but I’ve never found anything that matched it. Even in this age of “huge disk drives”, its one of those utilities I'd recommend to everyone.

    Brilliant one-job tool

    It scans your hard drive and shows you the files or folders which are taking up the most space on your hard drive. You can double-click on any one box and it'll take you to the folder in Finder so you can deal with it right there. I've been using it for years and years, and it just works.

    I use this at least twice a month to get rid of giant files and get some idea what is contributing to the storage so I can optimize it. With the price of built-in SSDs being so expensive from Microsoft, it's a small price to pay to never have to deal with "Low Storage" prompts again. Love this developer.

    After happily using this tool for years, I realized that I have never provided the positive feedback it deserves. A crowded hard drive can sneak up on you, and this is the easiest way for me to see immediately where the excess baggage is. If you are a 'visual' personality type, the level of detail is impressive and, frankly, kind of fun to look at. But is at heart a tool and has extended functionality to dig deep into your file structure to see what is actually taking up the space. Give it a try - the scan of your disk goes quickly, and you can easily and pretty quickly make an inpact on cleanining out you drive.
