RC-AirSim Overview
What is RC-AirSim? RC-AirSim is a realistic flight simulator designed to help users learn how to fly model airplanes. It features nine different model airplanes, including a fighter jet, biplane, glider, park flyer, and trainer. The flight dynamics and ground handling are based on NASA flight simulation technology, making it more realistic than many other flight simulators. Users can control the planes with a mouse, keyboard, or game controller, and there are three different view options. The simulator also includes realistic crashes and accurate landings and ground handling. RC-AirSim is a favorite among radio-controlled model airplane pilots worldwide for its realistic flight dynamics and aerodynamics.
1. Tired of "simulators" that feel unrealistic and fly like an arcade game? Try RC-AirSim! Experienced R/C pilots say that RC-AirSim feels and flies like an actual r/c model airplane! R/C pilots, don't let your skills get rusty when you are away from the flying field: practice with RC-AirSim.
2. Please Note: RC-AirSim is a realistic r/c model airplane flight simulator, NOT an arcade game.
3. New to the hobby of r/c model airplanes? Learn on RC-AirSim first and make the maiden flight of your first r/c plane a successful one.
4. Easiest to fly! Perfect for beginners using the 3 Channel control scheme.
5. For rudder/elevator controls only (no ailerons), fly using 3 Channel control scheme.
6. Electric scale biplane based on the historic World War I Fokker D.VII. Moving control surfaces and spinning prop.
7. · 9 model airplanes to fly including: F-15 Fighter Jet, WWI Biplane, Glider, Electric Parkflyer, Aerobatic Planes, and a Trainer.
8. · Realistic r/c model airplane flight aerodynamics based on NASA flight simulation technology.
9. Great for low inverted passes! 4 Channel control.
10. · 3 control modes: Mode 2 (default), Mode 1, and 3 Channel.
11. RC-AirSim has been used successfully by many r/c pilots to learn how to fly a model airplane.

I like it.
I use a Spektrum USB dongle with a DXE radio. It’s important to calibrate your radio to an axis (rudder, throttle , etc). Then remap the game settings to your controller. It can be a little tricky but the developer is very responsive to questions. I’m new to RC so this simulator has been a great aid in learning how to use the transmitter controls without destroying my own plane. My less than five star rating is because of set up procedure. It would be helpful if developer added some info on how to match the radio to the software. Otherwise, it’s great.
Like the big update!
Really like the new changes in this update. The engine smoke trails look great. After I installed a driver to get my xbox 360 wired controller to work with my Windows, I was able to use it with RC-AirSim to fly the planes.
Impossible to set up!
I've used multiple RC simulators over 20 years. This is the most frustrating ever! Documentation on setup is NON EXISTENT! I've calibrated, reversed servos both on the app and my controller and no love!!!! I'm using an Orange tx-10i with an Orange RX USB Sim dongle. THIS SHOULD WORK!!!! I'd give NO stars if that were and option!!!!
Where’s the documentation?
I cannot find any documentation on how to set it up with a dummy transmitter. This has the potential be be a very solid rc flight simulator, but without some basic setup instruction, it’s useless to me. :-(
Not worth it
Even at the low price. Set up with a transmitter is very tricky with little meaningful support from the developer. Better find other RC simulators with support.
