What is SimplePlanes? SimplePlanes is an app that allows users to build airplanes by snapping parts together, designing wing sections, and attaching engines. The app features over 250,000 airplanes available to download for free, and users can upload their own airplanes to rise through the ranks from a bronze builder to a gold level builder. The app also includes a dynamic flight model that calculates weight distribution, thrust, lift, and drag continuously while flying, and parts can break off due to over-stress or hitting something. SimplePlanes offers a sandbox mode with no restrictions, challenges such as landing on aircraft carriers and racing through courses, and educational tutorials on real airplane design.
