CopyQueue Overview

What is CopyQueue? CopyQueue is a file transfer management app that allows users to copy files faster and more efficiently than OS X. It is particularly useful for transferring large files and slow connections. With CopyQueue, users can pause and resume file transfers, even after restarting or reconnecting to the network, and decide which files are transferred first. The app also allows users to retry and resume transfers that fail if the network is disconnected, verify that every byte is copied correctly, and control how much network bandwidth is used. Additionally, users can schedule large transfers for off-peak periods. A free evaluation version of the app is available for download from the website.

Software Reviews and Criticism

Exactly what I was looking for!

There are surprisingly few apps out there that do this sort of thing well. I was attempting to use a 30 day free trial of a different software but it was way too confusing. I just wanted an easy transfer queue app that I could drag and drop a bunch of random folders in. I’m currently copying about 8TB of footage from multiple drives to one external drive to send to a client. When going through files slowly from multiple sources it was getting annoying seeing all my file transfers turn into 50,000,000 hours remaining etc. This app solves all my problems by only transfering one folder at a time. I even easily organized everything by tansfer time remaining so I can get the small files over quickly and start renaming and organizing them. I came back to update my review with even more praise! The hottest day ever was recorded in Los Angeles yesterday, my raids started flashing red and overheating, I had to shut everything down. Being able to save my copy queue, plug everything back in today, and restart my 21 hour copy was a LIFESAVER! Thanks for the great product!

    Works as advertised

After using CopyQueue for two years as of yesterday I can honestly say "thank you" to the author as it fills a niche that used to bother me greatly; moving GBs of files between multi-TB drives and then hoping all went well before deleting the original(s). With CopyQueue I just drag a file or folder onto the app, select a destination followed by making sure Verification is enabled and then move on to other tasks. The copy or move is followed by file verification at the target drive and it all takes place automagically. Wondeful!

Nearly cut my copy time in half!

I’m transferring large video files to a portable USB HDD from different sources to deliver to an editor. When dragging multiple files and folders to the drive, OS X tries to copy them simultaneously, which really slows things down. Finder showed the copy taking 14 hours, but doing the same copy in CopyQueue is showing 5.5 hours, which means I can go home and know I can ship the drive out first thing in the morning. Thanks for saving my bacon!

    Thank you

This application is solely responsible for me being able to fully back up a client's drive. I work in the film industry and it's very, very important to copy AND verify media. Clien'ts harddrive kept ejecting, making it impossible for me to copy via Finder. CopyQueue's 'retry' function saved the day as the drive would re-mount after unmounting. by itself. Thanks so much!
