  Great free app! A couple bugs, but worth the price

  This app saved me so much time and space. It crashed a couple times when handling several thousand photos, but no bad effects when deleting from my file folders. I’ll be much more cautious when I start using it for my Photos Library. Would love to see a few, hopefully simple improvements: 1) ability to mark for deleting using custom filters like “all dups in __ folder,” 2) words in filenames like “conflict” or "(1)” should be triggers that it is probably the dup to mark, 3) ability to double click on the folder tree at the bottom to open Finder and examine folder contents or 4) right click and choose “mark all dups in this folder” would save tremendous amounts of time, 5) ability to select-all-from-selected-to-end would be great for when you don’t have time to finish reviewing the next ~1,000 pix, 6) ability to mark an unmarked dup and app would unselect the next-most-likely dup, 7) ability to mark all dups in a group for deletion when you don’t want the photo (e.g., blurry or temporary photo of my shopping list).

  Great app, works perfectly

  This app works perfectly. By default, it will only find duplicates in your photos library (the pictures in your Photos app), but you can also scan any folder on your computer as well. You can either look through all the photos that it identifies as duplicates or allow it to autoselect which ones to delete. For the autoselection process, you can have it choose which one to select based on things like size or how recent each copy is. If you run it on a photos library, the duplicate photos are moved to an album where you can once again review them, and then you can just do command + a and hit delete. If you run it on a folder, the photos are moved to the trash after you finish reviewing them in the app. Overall, it is a very easy process with clear instructions. The only small issue is the ad for their other app that will show up at the end of identifying duplicates, but it doesn’t get in the way and is a small price to pay for a great free app.

  Outstanding!

  This app is quick and easy to use and it works! I’ve started taking more pictures and doing more filming and when I move files onto my computer, I sometimes upload them twice because I’m in a hurry and my thought is that I’ll go back and clean things up later when I have more time and later becomes next week and next week becomes next month and when I finally get around to checking my folders and files, I’ve got pictures everywhere and reviewing them manually became too much to do and VERY time consuming. I found this app, installed it, ran it, manually reviewed the pictures the first time (juuuuust in case and because they were all in one place it was easier to review rather than going through each folder I had created to offload the pictures), and the app cleaned up my duplicate photos as well as the several gigs of memory.   Find duplicate photos, review and move to folder for later deletion. Excellent!

  Collects and allows review of collected duplicates. Puts them in Photos album for you to delete later. An excellent approach that feels safe. This program allowed me to *automatically* find duplicates in my Photos library and moved them to a duplicates album for later deletion. It did not actually blindly delete anything, which was awesome. Once it finds duplicates, it gives you a review screen with the original bordered in green and the duplicates in red. Checkboxes allow you to unmark any photos for deletion. I can't imagine a safer-feeling way to handle removing duplicates of sometimes priceless originals. I have not explored all the program's functionality. The interface was professional not amateurish. Thought and tme were taken for how a person would actually use this app. My only criticism would be that the review duplicate screen have smaller thumbnails or the ability to change the thumbnails size with a slider (like in other apps). A small criticism. You still must take the time to review the duplicates it is marking and removing, but you save the hours of drudgery in finding them. The app is also flexible in that you can choose where it searches for duplicates, so I can see myself later using this to find non-photo duplicates outside of the Photos app.
