1. Set up the number of stories you want to see from each feed, decide if you want an article summary to appear and finally select the refresh time.
2. As soon as there's a new post, article or blog, you'll get a subtle notification at the top of your screen.
3. Add RSS feeds of your favorite websites to News Notifications.
4. Past notifications will be shown in Notification Center for your convenience.
5. Just enter the address of a website and we'll find its RSS feed for you immediately.
6. We've made it incredibly easy to add feeds.

Too minimal to be useful.
It gives you no capability to read the content of the RSS feed or even the full summary. It only populates the Notification Center, and clicking on items simply opens the links that the feed articles point to and then permanently removes from Notification Center. I understand that things don't normally remain in Notification Center after being clicked on, but normally an app that posts to Notification Center actually has an interface that manages the content it posts notifications for. Unfortunately, the content of an RSS feed is not always identical with where the feed entries link to. Knowing that there is new RSS content, but not actually being able to go to or read that content, isn't very useful to me.
Four out of Five Stars
I gave the application four out of five stars. Why? Because it's simple. It's out of my way. It lets me check my RSS feeds when I want to without having an app in the menu bar or dock. All you do, is swipe your fingers and voila, there's your RSS feed. It's simple guys, which is both it's strength and weakness. Strength because it's fast and minimal. Weakness because it's ease of use is lowered thanks to there being no true RSS reader that pops up after you click the notification center RSS link. Overall I'm happy with the program, it's great for those of us who'd like to keep our Macs simple.
Simple and easy, will get better over time!
I have been looking for an RSS feed notifier for Microsoft's Notification center that did two things: 1) I could choose the feeds and the update intervals 2) When I clicked the notification it brought me directly the article (not to an RSS app or feed). This app does both of those things wonderfully! The feeds are easy to create and label, and the setup is simple and reliable. Things I would LOVE to see in the feature: *More update interval choices (i.e. daily, hourly, etc instead of just minutes) *Summary customization (i.e. Choose 1,2, or 3 summary lines per each feed so that my notification center doesn't fill up so fast) *Right now the notification don't seem to make a sound, even though the option is available in the System Preference pane *Choose what happens when I click the notification (i.e. Be able to pick the site it directs to, app it opens, etc) Overall, GREAT APP!
Great start! Now here's some suggestions...
I like it! But there are a few things you ccould do to make it even BETTER: - For starters, please remove the icon on the menubar. It doesn't look great, and it really clashes with my current setup. A shortcut is much more reasonable to use. - I don't know if you can do this (but since we can use all three in Notification Center), but for BREAKING news, that's important, an alert instead of a badge would be good. And maybe let us choose betwen them on a feed by feed basis. - A better icon. I just don't like it, and it looks cut off a bit on my Launchpad. Sorry! Awesome work though, gives a breath of life to my Notification Center!
