Useful but needs a few more updates
This basic checkbook register is helpful for me to manage my parent's checkbook and I'm satisified I bought it for $.99 (saved me time in building a spreadsheet). Improvements needed are: ability to print other than using "print screen" and when making entries with zero value I have to close the account and reopen it for the calulations to take effect. Need ablity to sort not only on date but on check number as secondary field. Other than that this basic checkbook register meets my needs!
Great way to keep track of all accounts!
A bargain at $2.99!! You need this version to create multiple registers for Savings, Checking, IRA accounts, to create Sub Accounts (e.g., visa, utilities, insurance), reconcile, and print registers for each account. Exactly what I was looking for to replace Quicken 2003, which is no longer supported after upgrading to OS X 10.9.2. Register is easy to set up. Print copy of Register contains informative headers, professional looking. Easy to edit account names. Button at bottom of register totals ALL of your accounts! Search field works great, groups by description. I created separate accounts for each year of different accounts, e.g., 2013 Savings, 2014 Checking, because I could not sort, print accounts by year. Wish list includes: 1) linking Savings to Checking accounts, so that an amount transfered between accounts is automatically deducted on the other, 2) Password protect or lock accounts for privacy and security.
Extremely satisfied
Installed and have been using this APP since last August. Has fulfilled my check book ledger needs, notwithstanding requiring many tweaks and updates/fixes. Could tell from the beginning the APP had merit. I have worked very closely with the author and we have developed an excellent working relationship. I would convey my needs or any bugs I came across and Joe would comply, correct and/or fix. There have been several updates but I feel that most of the issues have been addressed and corrected. Joe has been extremely diligent and accommodating through the whole process. It only required a little time (well worth the wait) and patience. I now have a functional and productive financial tool that meets or exceeds all my requirements. Would strongly recommend this APP to anyone looking for a straight-forward and simple method of managing their personal financial accounts.
Great update and response
I'm following through on a pledge to the developer to give this a 5Star rating. The app does what it advertises to do. It has plenty of bells and whistles for the person who doesn't need an overly complex operation. It is simple to start. There had been some problems with this around the 4th of July Microsoft fiasco, causing the app not to be accessible, as others have complained. However, the developer was extremely prompt, polite to reply to my inquiry. He swiftly directed me to a quick-work-around patch which enabled me to keep working with my data until Microsoft approved the update. The update is great and enables me to do and access so much more with the information I input. The developer response alone rates a 5Star.
