HuePaint Overview

What is HuePaint? HuePaint is an app that allows users to paint and create beautiful works of art using expressive painting tools and a workflow-friendly user interface. The app features live-calculated brushes and strokes that interact in real time with a canvas texture that is uniquely generated for each picture. Users can adjust stroke size based on how much of their finger is touching the screen, and left-handed users can easily switch the toolbar to the other side. Parameters can be changed live, and the app supports Apple Pencil, full screen painting, dark mode, landscape and portrait modes, wide color, and multiple layers. The app was developed entirely using Swift and is based on Metal with 128-bit color and floating-point arithmetic. A one-time in-app purchase unlocks all Pro features on all available platforms (iPad-iPhone-Mac), including photo tracing mode.

HuePaint Features and Description

    Love this app

    I upgraded, not because I understand what I’m getting by upgrading, but in appreciation for an app that accepted outside coloring pictures as their own, and made my whole first experience so easy and so much fun, and even enabled me to share my colored page anywhere I wanted right after. For all that, they deserve to be paid.

    Practice and fun

    This is a great App. Even though I’m still learning all that it can do, I’m having a blast. I’m just using my finger right now. Just wait till I get a stylus…oh boy, David Hockney watch out.

    And I still do, though it's taken me a while to get used to the new update. I've used Hue for several years and in all that time I am still in love with it. The colors alone are enough to inspire loyal use, the there are so many other good reasons, the main for me, though, is always the colors. Thank you from Jamie

    App works but not like paint

    This app was familiar to me - I use the pastel version and like it a lot. I was hoping for smooth at would allow me to practice paint mixing that behaved like oils- it doesn’t do that. It’s more like oil pastels….
