  Fun and challenging

  Little Wing is an amazing company. Their pinball tables have been a staple of the Windows platform for two decades and they keep finding interesting storylines to give their games a lot of personality. Tristan was their first game, and they've re-invented it in glorious 3D. The iPhone and iPad versions are great little pocket games that have the feeling of a child's toy and provide bite-size fun on-the-go. This Windows version has a higher level of realism and detail than the portable versions, but still maintains the whimsy that Little Wing is famous for. I'd love to see Microsoft implement Game Center for the Windows. Tristan is a natural for competing with other players. Without Game Center, I'd like to see an option for multiple players (as on Little Wing's other tables for Windows). A choice of table views would be welcome too, rather than just the top-down view. But if you like pinball, Tristan will certainly satisfy your craving. NOTE: With High Sierra, Tristan will no longer start. The app will launch and the menu screen appears, but the keyboard and mouse seem to be disabled within Tristan's window.

  Good pinball, conditional performance

  I love Littlewing pinball games; Tristan is the simplest of the Littlewing games, both from a rule set / layout and a graphical perspective. I found that the gameplay was sluggish on my 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Windows under 10.6.x, but really snappy under 10.7.2 (Lion). If you have Lion and like pinball, it's a good price for a remake of an older game. If you aren't planning to get Lion, the game plays ok - but it doesn't quite feel right (at least in my experience).

  Great fun - yesterday and today!

  I remember Tristan as the first pinball game I played on my old Windows LC III. When I saw it on the app store, I immediately downloaded it to see if it held up. It's great - same sounds and tricky, realistic physics. Nobody does pinball like littlewing! All I can hope for is that they will do a port of Loony Labyrinth that doesn't require rosetta - I have never seen a pinball game as good as LL.

  The Best!

  I have tried dozens, maybe even up to 100 pinball software based computer games. I have yet to find one that does it better than LittleWing. If you want a pinball game with the best feel, look no further. I just wish LittleWing would release more stuff for modern operating systems.
