Best (and most used) app I own…when it works! Needs an update

Best (and most used) app I own…when it works! It needs an update because it now works only when it wants to, which as of late is about half the time. That’s probably a generous estimate too. I do absolutely love this app though!!! It is just one of those apps that when youuse it, you rely on it to always be working. Maybe there is something on my end that is preventing it fro working all the time, but I have know way of knowing if that is the case or how to fix it if so. Definitely a 5 star app when working properly!!!

An essential part of my everyday activity.

After ~5 years of use, I still use this dozens of times every day. Microsoft has built some of the behavior into the OS, but PopClip has far more services available, and allows you to select which ones you want. When I got this, it was about $5. When I wrote my first review, $10. Now I see it is $13, and still worth it. Get it soon, before the next increase! PS. Developer is quite responsive. He adds/updates for new versions of applications including Scrivener, EagleFiler, DevonThink, Evernote, Drafts, BusyCal, Google Scholar search.

Best Utility and By Far Most Frequently Used

This utility brings to OSX the iOS idea of putting an elongated bubble over selected items, with options to manipulate the selected content. The options are content specific - if you select an image, you won't get text options, etc. I have a total of 23 options set up, but typically fewer than 8 show (in the size adjustable bubble) because many are very specific - as in links for phone calling via Facetime, emailing, text case changes, etc. Contrary to one or two reviews here, the app is well maintained and updated as necessary. Over many years use, I've only once experienced a wait (two days) for an update after an OSX upgrade - and I stay up to date on OS changes. For the tech savvy, it's also possible to create or modify options. I was able to modify another option in order to trigger the search of an online dictionary for an obscure "dead "language.

Most important app on my MBPro

If you have work to do using your computer, you should have PopClip installed. It is indispensable for speeding up workflows and quickly becomes second nature when using. The ability to simply have "copy" and "paste" show up with a selection is so very handy, as are things such as making a selection and changing the cases of a string of words (to upper, lower, first letter upper, etc.) and so much more. The list of extensions you can add to it is amazing, every one of them simplifying some task that was annoying before. A "MUST HAVE" imho.

One of the handiest utilities I've ever used

This little app just sits quietly and awaits a chance to help you. I didn't realize how much I would appreciate it until I'd used it for a few days and then tried to do a similar feat in Windows (our company is, alas, a Windows shop). Do you enjoy carefully highlighting a word or a text string with your mouse and then right-clicking to copy it to the clipboard and then positioning your mouse where you want to paste the text and right-clicking again to paste it in? That's the Windows way. With PopClip, I just highlight the text, choose Copy from the popup menu that appears automatically, position the mouse where I want to place the text and with a click the menu agains shows up automatically and I choose Paste. It might not sound like a big timesaver but when you think about how often you do that sort of thing when editing documents or navigating web-based tools, the value of PopClip jumps out at you. And that's just one of the things it does so well. Read the features and then decide. It is so reasonably priced. Kudos to the developer!
