it's alright
this is an alright app you're pretty much getting what you expect minus a little. Plus side - full screen, nice fire?, sound, Bad side - crappy 5 second loop of a fire that is pretty noticeably a video loop after you watch it for 30 seconds. good to leave on in the background though i guess, to all those people who are complaining about the popup in the middle - MOVE THE MOUSE TO THE SIDE OF THE SCREEN AND DON'T TOUCH ANY BUTTONS AND IT'LL GO AWAY. obviously if you keep your mouse over a menu it will stay there - you're using a computer to download this aren't you?
Pretty Cool
This is pretty cool! It makes a fun "fire" sound and looks very real- fun for a night inside with a glass of wine and a good book. The pop up goes away after about 3 seconds of moving your cursor away from it. It is only there so that you can exit and adjust the volume. I would listen to all the other reviews because they clearly didn't try to remove the cursor :) Thanks to the guy who suggested doing that. It made this app experience all the more peaceful! Have fun!
nice, simple fire
Simple little fireplace, but the nagware pop-up pops up when the mouse is moved while the app has focus. Can't use the full screen mode in the background. Runs nicely when another app is on top.
Not even worth it for free
There is no visible way to get the "upgrade to pro" prompt to go away? There are no instructions to let you know exactly what to do, and having the prompt stay around when you happen to move your mouse anywhere on the app is really not worth the effort of downloading it. Unless they improve it with a place to click away the prompt, I'm not even interested in shelling out for the pro version. They lost a potential paying customer this way.
Enjoyable once I figured out how to make the giant popup go away!
I tried everything I could think of to make the giant popup in the center of the screen to go away, and couldn't figure out how to do it! Finally, I discovered that PATIENCE is what it takes. If you move your cursor away from the popup, and then don't touch your mouse for about 20 seconds, the popup finally goes away. It would be nice if they had an "X" on the corner of the popup that you could click to close the popup sooner, or perhaps simply clicking on the fire could close it. It was very frustrating until I figured this out! Other than the fact that the video clip repeats every 5 seconds, and the transistion from the last frame to the first frame when it repeats is very noticeable (they should have done a better job with this, so that the repeat isn't so noticeable), this is a cute app. Kind of makes a nice screen to leave my computer on when I go to sleep at night. It provides a little bit of light and has a soothing effect, just like a real fire would (minus the heat). They should have designed this program as a screen saver!
