Statics (Civil Engineering) Overview

What is Statics (Civil Engineering)? Statics is a mobile app designed for engineers, architects, and building science students. It is a fast standard beam solver that calculates moments, shears, axial forces, rotations, and lowerings for various types of beams loaded with forces, moments, and distributed loads. The app suggests input parameters and allows users to choose between metric and imperial units. It also enables users to design and check steel beams using common steel sections and control the maximum lowering allowed. The app includes a list of standard equations used to solve the beams. Statics was developed by Mattia Campolese, a former Civil Engineer from Lanciano, Italy, with a passion for software development. Users can follow the app's progress on Facebook and the developer's website.

Statics (Civil Engineering) Features and Description

1. In fact it's a fast standard beam solver (currently arches, supported, cantilever, inclined, fixed - fixed and fixed - supported beams loaded with forces, moments and distributed loads) that calculates moments, shears, axial forces, rotations and lowerings by simply inserting input parameters (many of them are also suggested by the program itself, like Young's modulus or material's weight).

2. Design &/or check steel beams using the most common steel sections for every kind of statics and by controlling the maximum lowering allowed (L/250, L/400, L/500).

3. Statics has been developed by Mattia Campolese, former Civil Engineer from Lanciano, Italy, with a strong passion in software development.

4. The program also has a list of all standard equations used to solve the beams, so you can easily know what is the general equation for every case.

5. Follow the progress of Statics on facebook (fan page "Matsoftware") and on .

6. It's also possible calculate the area moment of inertia for rectangular sections.

7. You don't have to bother about the measure unit system, because you can choose between metric and imperial one.

Pros:

  • - Clean interface
  • - Robust information
  • - Works well

    No good

    Waste of money. Don’t buy.

  • By Baanono

    Useless

I regret many purchase that I've made, but I've never regretted one like this. This app is totally a lie and it's not worth a cent.

  • By desrobr

    Frustrating

Just trying to switch units is impossible.
