    Disappointed

I'm not saying Affinity Photo's decision is wrong. I've seen numerous app developers switch to a subscription-based model. But when I think their transformation makes sense, it's usually because they really add major update to the app. In a word, they are developing XXX2, not renaming XXX1 to XXX2. For now, there is not much a difference between affinity photo 1 and 2. Affinity Photo 2 still does not address any one of the major concern, such as an Adobe Brydge CC compartment. And you guys should really give a major discount for anyone who bought affinityphoto one before. I'd say $20 for update from affinityphoto 1. BTW, I've seen someone saying that developers need to feed their family. OK, here is my thought on this. I totally agree that developers switch to a subscription based model, but a subscription based model can work in many ways. My suggestion is to do something like this: Each year, you give AffinityPhoto a major update, and anyone who bought this app can enjoy update for the next 12-14month. After that, they can still get fix and maintenance update, but not new functions.

    Stop complaining

I am disappointed taht the first few comments are from people upset they have to purchase version 2. Your version 1 works fine, and has been around for MANY years (8 for designer, 7 for Photo, and 3 for Publisher). For the amount of monry you spent, probably a MONTH on the Adobe Suite Subscription, you got a deal. What are you all thinking, that developers should slave for the rest of their lives updating your apps for you and get nothing in return? They have families to feed, etc. I am SURE that if you purchased it recently (as in the last few months) they would accomodate you with a discount - have you tried? But that said, with a Universdal license for ALL THREE tools on 3 platforms (Windows, iPad, Windows) for $100, that's a steal!

Awesome product and "honest" business model

Hey, I'm with "Eytan B" who takes on all complainers... Affinity is one of the few companies that still have a "HONEST" business model: you purchase a software when YOU want to, not forcing customers into a subscription model that ONLY serves the interest of the company to create a steady income stream. If you don't like to purchase Affinity2, well: keep using Affinity1, simply. Hey: Affinity team - I just purchased my combo (Photo Designer Publisher) and appreciate the 49% off offer. I love your product and have been using Affinity Photo for years now. Can't imagine going back to greedy-Adobe-subscription-model. Ever. Keep working, you guys doing great.

Professional Photo Editing at an affordable price

Professional Photo Editing at an affordable price and NO SUBSCRIPTIONS. The people that are complaining about the price should not be in the creative business if they can't afford such a small price for this app. I recently did just one job for a client and I already made my money back plus more and I purchased all apps for Windows, Windows, and iPad.

    A Disappointment Affinity Fan

I used to praise affinity for their software. I never thought it was a big budget experience for a small price, but it was more than enough for professionals like myself. I Initially made the swap from Adobe's CC to Affinity because of Adobe's dated/sluggish software and high monthly pricing. However, a lot has changed over these many years and adobe is adding more value, increasing performance, adding new apps for ipad, etc. Affinity went backwards. They're charging more for each app, abandoning V1 for V2 by no longer supporting/updating any of their current apps (Windows/windows/ipad). Nevertheless, I dropped $100. I love this suite but I was quickly disappointment. The performance is terrible! I have the M1 Pro 16inch MBP and Working one image slows it to a crawl...I've closed apps, tried the app store version apps. etc. Nothing. Its a shame to drop $100 for what is fresh coat of pain and added features that should've been there in the first place. I am very disappointed.
