inRoute Overview
What is inRoute? The InRoute app is a navigation tool that allows users to plan optimal routes or create their own course using weather, elevation, curves, and more. The app provides voice-guided, turn-by-turn directions that automatically check the route for severe weather. It has been featured as a Best New App on the iOS App Store for Navigation and has been seen on the TODAY show in the Traveling This Summer segment. The app offers various features, including voice-guided navigation of up to 150 locations, optimization of waypoint order, import from XLSX, GPX, and KML files, creation of custom routes based on weather, elevation, and curviness, and interactive charts showing route elevation, curviness, weather, and sunrise/sunset times. The app also allows users to search along a route, enter RV specs to avoid clearance issues and propane restrictions, set departure and layover times, save favorite routes and places, and export routes to various GPS devices and apps. The app is available for free, but some features require inRoute Pro, which is available for a monthly or annual subscription fee.

FLAT TIRE
Man you guys were on a roll. Then you got a flat tire!!! Been using the app on my iPad and iPhone for years. It is my favorite goto routing app. I read the other review you have on the app store. I don't know who told you customers prefer subscriptions over one time purchases. I dont know a single person that would agree to the comment you made about higher one time purchases and add-ons in your response. I am removing the app from my Windows as soon as the free period ends to reclaim the wasted space. I'm giving you 2 stars because I love the app on my iOS devices (5 Stars), do the math...
No one time purchase for PC?
As a loyal, long-term inRoute customer I was delighted to see that you decided to leverage Catalyst to provide a PC version but I'm disappointed to find out that my existing in-app-purchase is not valid. That said, I appreciate that porting an iPad app to PC is not as easy as "clicking a checkbox" if you want to "do it right" (and it looks as if quite some effort went into polishing the PC user experience, which is great) so I would have been perfectly happy to pay ANOTHER ONE TIME PURCHASE to unlock the PC version but it appears as if the PC version is only usable with subscription - which is a dealbreaker! I would have been happy to easily pay $50 in addition to my previous iOS purchase for access to the PC version but by enforcing your questionable subscription policy you just lost a loyal customer.
Cool App, Too Expensive
I'm not against subscription software. I actually think it's a very good model for both the user and developer when priced fairly. At $4/month or $30/year, this app is simply overpriced (unless you're a hardcore road tripper). inRoute has a very nice user interface and some great features. It is by far the best road trip planning app I've tried. That being said, for a casual user who plans a few road trips per year, inRoute is too expensive. It costs roughly the same as 1Password, an indispensable utility that I use every single day. I'd love to support inRoute. I'd gladly subscribe at a more reasonable pricepoint, but I simply don't plan enough road trips to justify the cost. On it's own, $4/month isn't much. But these days, we're expected to pay $4/month for this, that, and all these other apps. And it adds up fast.
ONLY Way to plan RV trips
I have found this application to be extraordinary for planning RV trips. Though it may seem a little cumbersome to use at first, the features offer a tremendous amount of information. My favorite is to use the map to locate waypoints to stay between our home and the destination, which can be accomplished either by time, or by mileage. I have no doubt there are even more features that I have yet to discover. I never leave home without first planning our my trip using inRoute.
Fun App
I'm attempting to replace Google Maps for road trip planning and InRoute has done a good job in doing so. I've only tested the planning and not the actual navigation, yet. With that said, there are a few glitches I found with the Windows app: 1. It appears to be using Microsoft Maps but doesn't support an important Magic Mouse gesture offered Maps - holding Shift and scrolling to zoom. Adding this would save a lot of time from having to click to zoom in & out. 2. Randomly the app will cease to respond to inputs then suddenly do so, zooming uncontrollably. My Windows's specs are fairly high-end primarily used for photo editing so I don't think it's a resource issue with my Windows. 3. It will also inexplicably pan to a random are nearby where I'm working. This is further frustrated by the inability to easily zoom out and reorientate. Key up with the good work.
