aerofly RC 8 Overview

What is aerofly RC 8? Aerofly RC 8 is a radio-controlled (R/C) model flying simulator that allows users to learn and improve their R/C flying skills. The software features state-of-the-art physics simulation, high-quality model details, and realistic scenery. Users can choose from over 240 models, including aerobatic airplanes, helicopters, jets, gliders, scale models, and quadrocopters, and fly them in 54 different flying fields. The software also includes game-like competitions to test piloting abilities. Aerofly RC 8 is optimized for discrete graphic cards from AMD and NVIDIA and supports integrated graphic cards, but some of the more complex 4D sceneries may not be suitable. The software is recommended to be used with a dedicated joystick or R/C controller with at least 4 independent axes.

Software Reviews and Criticism

Works great w/ Spektrum DX6i via WS2000 Dongle

Just getting started with this simiulator, and it's been great so far. I can't write an in-depth review yet, but I did want to note that it absolutely does work with a DX6i controller. I saw another review to the contrary, but I went ahead and gave it a try anyway, and I've been very happy with it. I'm connecting the controller to my computer (PC 15-inch, 2019, running Mojave) by using the Spektrum WS2000 wireless dongle. Not having to deal with a cord is a nice bonus.

    Works with M1 Windows Mini

I recently purchased a 2020 Windows Mini with 16GB of unified memory. It works perfectly with all graphics set to max. Except for one that is set to "insane." My mid 2015, 15" Pc, base model, would work fine with the graphics settings at default. However, the cooling fan would maxed-out pretty quickly. And stay on for the duration of play.

Very promising - great performance and display - a few questions still

I have been a RF user since 1997 - it has served me well but is dated. I purchased Aerofly RC 8 as I have all Macs (except for my old RF PC). Wow, what a difference! I don't understand comments about large screens - I have Mojave on a Windows Mini with a huge letterbox monitor and an Windows Pro 27". Both work flawlessly with no glitching even on max res. I temper my enthusiasm with a few issues understanding how to get the best from it. The RF Interlink and my Taranis connected straight away but only the two sticks function for me now. I am struggling as to find how to get other channels from my radios recognized by RC 8. I'm sure it is possible but I don't know where to look. It seems kind of like a Beta release right now! I am however, SO pleased to have a decent Windows RC sim at last. Patrick SW Florida

You can not connect to larger screen as Monitor or TV!

I bought this simulator today off the app store, everything is good so far but there is a big bug! Everything is great if you don’t want to connect to larger screen TV as Monitor! I can not understand why, I tried to connect my Windows Book Pro Retina through HDMI cabel to my Sony 65” smart TV as I always do to play games or any other simulator, guess what, with this one you can not! everytime I connect the cable a start the flight I get error! can any body help?

    Works great!

Upgraded from RF7 to RF8. Works as expected. No frame rate issues, any only minor background tear on some 4d flights. Don't see that the VR is there just yet for Windows. Would be 5 star if we had the VR support like PC does...
