DirEqual Features and Description

1. DirEqual is a Folder Compare Tool that makes it extremely easy to compare local files and folders on your Windows.

2. DirEqual displays compared directories side by side as expandable trees, and the size and date are indicated for each item.

3. To copy or delete files or folders, click an individual item to choose the appropriate action.

4. Differences between the directories are indicated with colour and easy to identify icons.

5. Then click the "Execute" button to synchronise the two folders.

6. The action is represented with red and blue arrows.

Very nice

I recently made a Finder backup of a 600+GB folder and received a message saying that not everything was copied due to not having the right permissions. So, I downloaded this app and ran a comparison of the source versus destination folders. The application was intuitively designed, quick to run, and very clear in how it displayed results. I did not use the “Compare file contents” option, so I’m not reviewing how that works, but in just doing a folder comparison I can tell you that it’s very useful and accurate. Thank You for a great app.

Great app - easy to use!

This app does what it says on the tin. It compares directories & clearly tells you where the differences are. Plus, it lets you easily copy the stuff from one directory to the other. Do take a moment and read the Help & the Legend, as it may not be immediately obvious what to do the first time after to do a scan. I paid for the lifetime update plan because it's a great app at a great price!

Works great!

One of my hard drives was damaged but I was able to mount it and copy its contents onto another drive. I was worried that I may be missing files or that some of them might be damaged so I used this tool to compare both the directory structure and file contents. The app was super easy to use and configure, and did find a few files that didn't match! Thank you for making this!

This is the one

I tested several of the File/Folder compare apps, and this was the only one that did everything I wanted, effortlessly and clearly, for free. I went ahead and paid for the $3.99 "upgrade" (not sure it actually does anything except remove a splash screen, but I didn't try to compare file contents) because it was so well done and so useful.
