What is Switcher Cast? Switcher Cast is a desktop app that allows users to livestream or record their Mac screen and/or webcam by making them available as video inputs in the Switcher Studio iOS app. It enables users to share presentations, documents, websites, games, demos, tutorials, videos, and even the action from their webcam. The app connects to Switcher Studio through a local Wi-Fi network, ensuring stable and high-quality casting. Switcher Cast is compatible with Switcher Studio’s Director Mode, allowing users to capture HD recordings from their computer. To get started, users need to download and open Switcher Cast on their Mac desktop, connect to the same Wi-Fi network as the iOS device running Switcher Studio, grant permission to record the Mac desktop screen, and select the Mac's camera or display as a source in the Switcher Studio app.

3. Switcher Cast connects to Switcher Studio through your local Wi-Fi network rather than the internet, ensuring that the content you’re casting is stable and high-quality.

4. Connect your Windows desktop to the same Wi-Fi network as the iOS device on which you’re running Switcher Studio.

5. Grant Switcher Cast permission to record your Windows desktop screen.

6. Download and open Switcher Cast on your Windows desktop.

7. Plus, Switcher Cast is compatible with Switcher Studio’s Director Mode, allowing you to capture HD recordings from your computer.

8. Open the Switcher Studio app on your iOS device.

9. Tap the Inputs tab in the Tab Bar (camera icon in the bottom navigation bar).

10. Under “Sources on Your Wi-Fi Network,” select your Windows's camera or display (screen).

11. Start casting content from your Windows to the Switcher Studio app.

    Expensive BUT easy to use!

    I really like Switcher Studio. The only major feature I use is the Split Screen when I'm doing my craft videos. It's a bit expensive for my business but overall, I like the app too much and haven't found anything comparable that is easy to use with connecting my iPad and iPhone. My only issue has been that the App logs me out of both the iPad and iPhone after I set up a new facebook stream so I have to log back in before I can start broadcasting.

    Great App

    This is a great app. I downloaded it a few years ago and it was really glitchy. Then when the pandemic came we needed a way to stream our church and decided to try it again. This it was the internet that was glitchy. Since then we have been using it every week and plan to continue using it. The downside is that it ONLY uses IOS. What would be helpful is if we could include other phones or Internet devices like a go pro. We have a 1080 HD Video Cam that is internet accessible but does not work with this app. Also another suggestion...Since there are a lot of churches that are using this if you could make it interactive with programs like pro-presenter or Keynote for lower thirds presentations. This way we can keep the speaker on screen and still show key points of the speeches. Just an idea.
